Scarlett Johansson Recalls Thinking THE AVENGERS Would Be A Disaster
After bringing the Russian S.H.I.E.L.D. spy to life in the cluster that was Iron Man 2, Scarlett Johansson handily went on to play Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow in The Avengers last year. However, speaking with Total Film, the actress recalled being quite skeptical when Marvel first informed her of what was then their penultimate grand plan. “The idea of it is ridiculous!” she laughs. “When they told me that was the next step, I said, 'Oh, no! That is a disaster! You saw Thor, you saw Captain America, you saw Iron Man - those things don't go together!'”
Commenting on The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Black Widow actress Scarlett Johansson recalls being skeptical (like everyone else) when she found out what Marvel Studios had planned. Check it out!
Of course, she couldn't have been more wrong and she's set to reprise her Black Widow role again in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. And by the time that sequel (which Total Film mag' also quotes co-director Joe Russo saying has “paranoia at the heart of its story”) hits theaters next summer, Johansson will have just started filming her fourth turn as the character in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Regarding how much she knows about the much-anticipated superhero reassembly, Scarlett admits she only learned of the new title when writer-director Joss Whedon announced it at Comic-Con. “We're so out of the loop,” she laughs. “I'm expecting delivery of the script any day now. When it comes you can guarantee It'll be read in 25 minutes.” Scarlett Johansson has likely received Whedon's script by now as this interview was conducted some time ago. What do you think?
So far starring Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Cobie Smulders, Jeremy Renner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, and Samuel L. Jackson and James Spader, The Avengers: Age of Ultron is directed by Joss Whedon from his screenplay, and is slated to begin production in March 2014 and the sequel is scheduled to release on May 1, 2015.
