Batman Returns is the immediate sequel to Batman (1989), directed by visionary filmmaker Tim Burton. Batman (1989) was a game changer for comicbook movies because not only was it the first comic book adaptation to engross $250 million, but it also changed the way comic book movies were made. While the film wasn't too well recieved by critics, audiences ate up the film, and its commercial success warranted a sequel. Batman (1989) created a wide array of fans, but its sequel, Returns, divided the audience. But enough about the back story, let's get on with the review:
