EDITORIAL:Obsteperous shares his experience as an extra in TDKR (did you see me?)
Comicbookmovie's own obstreperous (a life long batman fan) got a chance to be apart of the TDKR way back when they shot in NYC. So what did this honest to goodness fan think of the film? (and more importantly how he feels he stole the show.)
Hey guys I've been on this site a long time, it's actually how I found out about the casting call in NYC way back in the fall. The place was close enough to MIDTOWN COMICS that I actually went in having no prior acting experience or the slightest interest in theater I went in as a gag. You can imagine my surprise when I got an email two weeks later saying that I got to come back for a costume fitting.
I was only there for about a day and a half I got to dress up like a cop with a thousand other grown men. We showed up on set at around 3am and worked until about seven. We practiced that scene charging at each other for 15 hours! I kid you not so it was very funny to see it for a lack of better words cut short on screen. Don't get me wrong I literally had the time of my life and will talk about this until I die. I swear on my mother's life I stood two inches side by side to Christopher Nolan at around 6 am in the morning, I didn't say anything to him of course but wow! He was talking about bagels or something while I was filling out my social security a real humanizing experience!
The whole experience was awesome standing there with a bunch of fake cops running at vagrants like something out of brave heart was geektastic.I have been waiting impatiently for this movie for 4 years! The end result of such an emotional investment can only be compared to how I felt after spider-man 3.
All I have to say is ... I was like you opening day I had seen the prologue but I had no idea what was going to happen a second afterward I sat there with goosebumps my heart was racing I was like " o thank god I can die after this movie" then Anne Hathaway goes "oops..." yeah Anne you said it.
