Ben Affleck Talks More About Deathstroke's Role In THE BATMAN And Why He Cast Joe Manganiello
Justice League star Ben Affleck talks here briefly about why Deathstroke makes a good foe for the Caped Crusader in The Batman while also praising the actor who will take on the role of Slade Wilson.
Ben Affleck has already shed some light on his decision to utilise Deathstroke as a villain in The Batman, and now the actor and director has elaborated on that during a recent interview with IGN. Essentially it sounds like the filmmaker is excited to explore the similarities between the two, and no doubt the awesome hand to hand combat we're no doubt going to see in the movie as a result.
"You know, it's hard to say exactly what it is. I think the reaction spoke for itself. It just seems like a great counterpart to Batman. They're similar in terms of skillsets, they're similar in terms of tone, and he's never been utilised in a movie before which is really, really exciting." While Deathstroke has never been seen on the big screen, he was in Arrow. Do you think Affleck picked up the box set?
Probably not. Regardless, Affleck was asked why he chose to cast Joe Manganiello as Slade Wilson, and his answer was short and to the point. "He's great and he's going to be great in the movie."
