EDITORIAL: Thoughts On THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

EDITORIAL: Thoughts On THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

My thoughts on the upcoming Batman finale.

The Dark Knight Rises is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. It is Christopher Nolan's Batman finale to his amazing and truely epic trilogy, Batman Begins started it and was fantastic and The Dark Knight made the hype and the excitment even greater. But, all of the so called Nolanites and all that other Bull crap is the reason I'm not all that excited for The Dark Knight Rises like I wanna be. I'm not here to make theories on who the characters of John Blake and Miranda Tate really are, I'm here to give my thoughts so here we go.

Casting: Like everyone else, I love the cast of the entire trilogy and saddend of Heath Ledger's passing. But I feel this movie has the potential to be the best Batman film yet, despite my feelings towards DC because of me as a Marvel fan more than other comic companies. I am not a big fan of casting Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman but I feel either her or Tom Hardy as Bane is gonna steal the entire movie like Heath Ledger did as The Joker in The Dark Knight.

What we know: Between all the little we know about the film, it seems to be an awesome movie although it's apparently basically left the superhero genre and is an all out war movie. Liam Neeson returns as Ra's al ghul which makes for lots of speculations. For me, it's hard to write about something we don't know a whole lot about.

Look: Batman's costume always gets a small adjustment or two, although unless you look real close on screen, you can't even tell. I personally love Bane's new look. It's a very intense look and you can tell he's all about buisness, while Anne Hathaway's Catwoman is bugging me like hell. I do not like her look, I'd highly perfer the look from Arkham City. But that is just me.

Final thoughts: It's a given that it's gonna be wildly huge and I have faith in the cast and crew it'll be an amazing movie but all the hype everyone is giving it is ruining the movie for me and I'm starting to not wanna see it at all. Overall, I can't wait.
