Geoff Johns Explains His New DC Films Role; Confirms Writing BATMAN With Ben Affleck

It was announced that Geoff Johns will be co-heading Warner Bros.' new DC Films division, but many were confused as to what it really meant. Now, Geoff Johns himself explains his new role...

It was recently announced that Geoff Johns would be one of two people heading the new Warner Bros. DC Films division, but what his new role entailed remained a mystery. Well, it's not a mystery anymore. Geoff Johns recently spoke to Comicbook.com, explaining his new role within DC Entertainment. "My job is to help other Warner Brothers divisions work with DC. I work with Warner TV and producers to get these shows up and running, in particular with The Flash, where I co-created the show, wrote a few episodes, wrote the pilot episode," explained the new co-head of DC Films. "I work with other people, Ames Kirshen in games, the studios like Rocksteady and Netherrealm, go in there on character choices, story they’re going to do and brainstorm on that, try to keep it true to comics."

With Johns having planted the seeds for the new DC Rebirth, allowing for other writers to step in, he'll be taking a more active approach in building a better DC Film universe, and he's starting with Ben Affleck's Batman solo film. "I do get to say I'm working on Batman with Ben Affleck," confirmed Johns. "That gets the Thanksgiving table excited, especially my brother." Affleck himself has said that he was working with Johns on the Batman solo film, but now we have confirmation that he will be writing the film. What do you think about Geoff Johns officially writing the Batman solo film with Ben Affleck?
