GOTHAM Gets GOSSIP GIRL Writer/Executive Producer

Fox’s Batman prequel show, which now has a series commitment (though that doesn't necessarily mean it will definitely make it to series), has hired TV writer/author John Stephens as an executive producer/writer. Read on for more details.

EW report that John Stephens (The CW’s Gossip Girl, The WB’s Gilmore Girls and Fox’s The OC)  has come aboard Fox's Batman prequel series as  writer and executive producer.  Bruno Heller (The Mentalist, Rome) wrote the pilot script and will also serve as executive producer, and Danny Cannon (CSI, Nikita) directed the recently wrapped pilot. The show will focus on the early lives of many of the characters in the Batman universe, such as Detective James Gordon (Ben McKenzie), Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova), Harvey Bullock (Donald Logue), and Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor).
