From what I can conclude its going to be a toss up among fans about which film they find best among the series. Also critics seem to be still mesmerized by Ledgers performance as the Joker and just like Eckhart's Two Face, Hardy's Bane falls under the shadow of the Joker. That's just how powerful Ledger's performance is I guess.

@INSTANTJUSTICE: RT wasn't shut down. you just can't comment anymore but then I never actually cared enough about reviews to comment. I don't condone people sending death threats (come on, it's just a movie). What i do have a problem with is people saying it's not better before they have seen it in an unbiased manner; if you go into a film wanting to hate it then I can't take that review seriously.

“I preferred the last movie, but [The Dark Knight Rises] is a better Batman movie, and, I suspect, a better film. (It’s my third-favourite film of the year so far: Moonrise Kingdom and The Cabin in the Woods are ahead of it.)”

I don't get why so many critics complain about an overstuffed screenplay where they claim that having themes and metaphors said out loud via dialogue dumbs it down. In my opinion, if it weren't for those metaphors being said out loud by the actors, we would never have such iconic lines that many of the characters in this trilogy have said.

A lot of love for Hathaway. Everyone is going to be comparing her to Michelle. It's funny Hathaway got a lot crap from many haters on here and she might have stole the show.

I actually enjoyed Batman Begins more than The Dark Knight...although that could be because of I've watched the latter for 10+ times I've become a bit bored of it. But, whatever. Bring it.

I keep hearing that its a very dark film, how Dark, "The Crow" type of dark, and also I get the feeling that its gonna be pretty hard to watch some of the things that happen in the movie, especially the scene where Bane kicks Batmans ass

@soforizo

If people's reaction changes critics reviews (I don't think it will happen) I think it could actually be the opposite of what you said. Crtics from small blogs/webs have seen they can have a lot of extra clicks if they post a negative review.

" Its NOT as good as TDK! " ... Well that's I feel is also cuz their was NO film before TDK that did stuff that happened in TDK! & if TDKR does same game-changing stuff AGAIN; it's NOT going to be considered as great as TDK; cuz their is a TDK before it!!

Plus ENDING being great is just what it matters in 3rd one!!
U don't really criticise Nolan for NOT topping TDK; cuz that Impossible!!

Even SATISFYING this much number of reviewers with Ending is what I wanted to hear!
I Got that!
TDKR is gona be Awesome!!

It Maybe or may not be as good as TDK; but it certainly isn't gona feel like it is better, right now! .... Atleast for next 2-4 years, so when dust settles & then people will consider reviewing ALL 3 on equal merits; then it's just gona be equally Divided!!
Now the emotions for TDK are too high to even be talked about!!
TDK will always be ahead, but ALL 3 are more or less as great as others!!

We got a Great BEGINNING in BatmanBegins; an Astonishingly Amazing Sequel in The Dark Knight; & an Epic & Satisfying Conclusion in The Dark Knight RISES!!
What MORE can u ask!?!
What MORE; NOLAN can do!?!

I heard the women in this movie are extrodinary, does that mean we ge a Tahlia/Catwoman fight
FilmsFan
FilmsFan - 7/18/2012, 3:12 AM
.. & how about Hathaway's choice as Salina/Catwoman!?!!

For Hater & Complainers;

Ann Nailed it & everyone is loving her take!!
& NOLAN made a GREAT female role!!

So will Hater stop COMPLAINING .... Now!

No!!!
They'll certainly find things for Nolan to overcome in future films.
Anyone doubting him NOW, NOW... Is just MAD!
Sorry but still if u just HATE him then ur an Asshole ...Or just trying so Hard to be!!

None of these reviewers knew there was a film before The Dark Knight did they? Shame. They have no idea what they're missing out on.

Glad to hear that Ann Hathaway's performance is so great, maybe she'll open the door for DC/WB and other studios for the new wave of female Superheroe's... starting with Ms. Marvel

about box office, Just saying... I'm not a math genius and I am talian so I don't know the prices of your tickets. But i'm able, like you all, to make two simple calculations.
Assuming for example that there are 10 moviegoers and that the tickets cost is 10$ regular,12$ 3D, 14$ imax, 16$ 3D imax.

Well, take the case of the avengers: 5 user for 3D, 3 for 3D imax and 2 regular --> 60$+48$+20$=128$. And I'm calculating
for excess, given that it has been reported that the gains derived from the 3D impacted to 40%.

Take TDKR now. 5 for Imax and 5 regular --> 70$+50$=120. I don't see too much gap here, and what if 6, or 7 moviegoers, instead of 5, on opening weekend choose imax?
Can some of you tell me if my
example is stupid, or if is reasonable enough (in which case the whole argument about 3D incredible advantage in benefits is BS)?

@darkmetal I'm not a Marvelite or a hater, but I'm kinda glad that my favorite movie critic gave The Amazing Spider-Man a slightly higher rating than Avengers and TDKR.

@darkmetal, I wouldn't listen to a guy like Roger Ebert who said that video games aren't art lol. Clearly he doesn't know his ass from his face haha. Especially considering the main aspect of a game is artwork lol. He's an idiot. Ever since he said that, I could care less about his opinion.
