Poll: Who Might Joseph Gordon Levitt Play In TDKR? Poll: Who Might Joseph Gordon Levitt Play In TDKR?

It seems as if young Mr Levitt will be joining the already hugely impressive cast of Chris Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises, but who might the Inception star play? Take the poll leave your feedback..

Yes, JGL is in TDKR! Or at least, he looks to be pending official confirmation. Speculation is already running rife as to who he might be playing just as it did back when word of Tom Hardy being cast hit. And just like Hardy there are several characters Levitt could potentially fit.

Some seem to think he will be The Riddler even though Nolan already said he won't be in the movie. Was he misleading us? Highly unlikely, although what about a variation on the character. Edward Nashton maybe? Levitt seems to young for Dr Hugo Strange but that doesn't mean that the character hasn't been tweaked some. How about Black Mask? This seems to be a popular theory since there will most likely be some sort of mob boss type character in there somewhere. So how about continuing with a connection to the Falcone family. Alberto Falcone who is also the serial killer Holiday? Levitt would make a very good Robin/Dick Grayson imo but again, highly unlikely. But what about Jean Paul Valley/Azrael? It would certainly make sense if Nolan does go the Knightfall route and takes batman out of action for a bit as recent rumors suggested he might. Or maybe he won't be playing a character from the comics at all.

The possibilities are countless. But who do you think is most likely?

More like "Who do you want JGL to play in TDKR". I would love Black Mask, but as I've said before Dick Grayson wouldnt suprise me after Selina Kyle's going to be featured! But pleeease Black Mask!

Uh....Levitt would make a horrible Hugo Strange.
I have my bet on Dick Grayson or Black Mask.

Wishful thinking but, I would love it if he played The Riddler, but Ridd doesn't seem to fit into his story. Otherwise, I dunno.

1) Hugo Strange (younger version clearly but could physically fit in bat suit)
2) Riddler (Nolan said he would not be the Main villian. Think Scarecrow in TDK)
3) Jean Paul Valley (I will jump out a window)

I'm not sure...he'd be a great Riddler, but there's no real need for that character I don't think. I'm not well up enough on Batman to guess who else he might be suited to playing, but I hope he has plenty of scenes with Hardy - they had great chemistry in Inception. Good stuff ROR! :)

Still think he should be joker. Just briefly, to acknowledge that the joker character is still alive. He was too epic (I know that word's over used, but nothing else correctly applies) to not be acknowledged. It wouldn't even have to be a straight on shot, something artsy.

I was thinking that Nolan might try to get Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the next Batman film. Nolan likes to use actors he's worked with in his later films. He's re-used Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Cillian Murphy, and a couple of others, I think? Now Tom Hardy and possibly Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

I was hoping Riddler would be in the third film, though, and JGL would make a good Riddler. I know Nolan said Riddler wouldn't be used, but he has gone back on his word a few times before so who knows.

I think Nolan likes to plant hints on possible villains for the next film in the movie prior. If you remember from the first movie...

BATMAN BEGINS
- Two-Face: Bruce says, "To all you phonies, you two-faced friends..." Two-Face is Harvey Dent, who is one of Bruce's friends in the comics.

- Joker: This one is obvious as his calling card is clearly shown at the end so that ain't really a hint lol

When watching The Dark Knight the first time, I thought that Catwoman and Riddler would at least make an appearance in the third film because of these--I guess--"hints"?

THE DARK KNIGHT
- Catwoman: Talking about the new suit, Bruce asks, "How will it hold up against dogs?" And Lucius responds with, "Should do fine against cats." I think the whole getting bitten by a dog thing was thrown in to introduce the subtle hint of the new suit (read: Batman) goes up against a cat, Catwoman.

- Riddler: Bruce's accountant was one of the only people to be able to deduce that Bruce is Batman. Riddler is known to be have one of the best deductive minds in the Batman universe. His name is Mr. Reese. Say it together and it sounds like "mysteries". Riddler's real name is Edward Nigma, or E. Nigma, and sounds like "enigma".

I'm not saying I knew for a fact that Catwoman and Riddler would be in the third movie. I'm just saying that it looks like Nolan likes to toss in hints to possible villains in the next films, so after hearing those hints, I thought that maybe those two would be in it. It'd be cool if it ends up being true, though lol So far, I'm right three out of four (Joker is the freebie spot lol). C'mon four-for-four lol

Actually, after watching Inception, I also made a prediction that Nolan would possibly cast JGL in the third Batman film. So far it could be true. C'mon five-for-five lol Bring in Levitt to be Riddler, Nolan! We need another villain to play the "I know Batman is Bruce Wayne!" angle. I'd rather have Riddler for that instead of Hugo Strange.

1) It won't be The Joker. Nolan said he'd never recast.
2) I can't see it being a villain. Nolan would never inject one of his films with multivillainitis. Two is the perfect number of villains for one film.
3) I reckon it will be Dick Grayson (but not Robin).
naterator
naterator - 2/2/2011, 1:26 PM
i would not be one bit surprised to see him play the joker....eeeeeven tho NOLAN said he was done with him....im sure we will see him in arkham sulking in a corner or whispering something to somebody on the outside as tho hes the real villain behind the curtain just the way we kinda prefer to see Lex in the coming Superman films. In the background stirring the pot.

And if he did recast him for Joker in this way it would leave room for further movies moving towards an epic twisted JLA movie.

I would like Jean Paul Valley, but if Nolan's staying true to knightfall that means bringing in nightwing/robin, and abbatoir...

If Nolan was going to bring in anyone for the role of Jean Paul Valley, my own opinion is that Leonardo DiCaprio, yet another Inception star, would be a better fit than Levitt.

so whens di caprio joining the cast then, hardy and JGL are there, I remember there being rumours that JGL, Hardy and Dicaprio were all fighting for a role in TDKR, well looks like two of them got roles in the movie. The one that makes sense if it was Jean Paul Valley, I want it to be Dick Grayson but I highly doubt that

@LEEE thats a bit stupid isn't judging a guy over one role. By the way its crispin not grispin

My guess is Holiday. I mean, the first two films have had the Falcone crime family in them. You had Carmine Falcone in the first one and Sal Maroni in the second one. I think that Holiday will show up and take over that crime syndicate.

AnnieTeaBabe@ You're absolutely right. I heard the same thing, when they were making it. It's been kind of brushed under the carpet since.
Ambalser@ Look in the mirror. See a moron.
I would love JGL s role to be Jean Paul Valley, because that would mean that he is in this picture. But I think he'd suit Nightwing more. And I think that's who he's playing. But not Robin, that's just stupid. Nolan probably doesn't want to commit career suicide just yet. Not when he's so close to bagging the golden dildo.

It's amazin' that despite both Nolan and Bale confirmin' that Robin will NEVER appear in this trilogy that y'all keep puttin' him in polls and speculatin' that he will be in it. How stupid can everyone get? Is confirmation like an in-cohesive understandin' that illogical fanboys can't grasp the concept of? Excuse my arrogance, but this shit has annoyed me long enough. Anyone who speculates Robin.. Photobucket

how about: Jack Ryder.... the alter-ego of The Creeper..
on daytime just a newsguy... so he could be a reporter who comments on gang-wars or the hunt for the bat....
not including the Creeper-thing... would be to unrealistic for Nolan ;)
