THE BATMAN Leaked Promo Art Reveals A New Look At Robert Pattinson's Dark Knight THE BATMAN Leaked Promo Art Reveals A New Look At Robert Pattinson's Dark Knight

The Batman won't arrive in theaters until next year, but we have some newly revealed promo art from the film to share with you today that should keep us going for at least a little while longer!

We all love a good promo art leak, and it's The Batman that gets the spotlight today.

As you'll see in the Tweet below, Robert Pattinson's Dark Knight is highlighted on an awesome black and white image that gives us a closer look at the Batsuit he'll wear in this film. It's an impressive take on the character and one that pulls from many of his comics and live-action appearances.

This artwork appears to be what Warner Bros. is using on merchandise aimed at children as we recently saw a coloured, almost identical shot on some Hot Wheels toy packaging. The Batman is expected to be R-Rated, but toys featuring the Caped Crusader's likeness sell, so there should be plenty to buy when that March 2022 release date finally rolls around.

An unrevealing synopsis for the film notes, "The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves with Robert Pattinson starring as Gotham City’s vigilante detective, Batman, and billionaire Bruce Wayne."

The cast also includes Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton, Jeffrey Wright as the GCPD’s James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson, Barry Keoghan as Officer Stanley Merkel, Jayme Lawson as mayoral candidate Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot.

No matter what's happening in the world, we've got The Batman to look forward to.

Warners doesn't realise that they're successfully rebooting Batman and the DC Universe with this film.

They still think this is a side-project.

This is your main project, you assholes! This is Iron Man, ground zero DCU!

Somebody really oughta let 'em know.

@GwenLantern - if anything’s guaranteed at Warner, it’s money.

If this makes a shit tone of money, watch them turn their focus to making this their main universe.

@Se4M4NSt4ine - It does come out a few months before The Flash. Plenty of time to change the ending.

@GwenLantern - I've been saying just use Flashpoint to make this the new dceu batman. You can keep wonder woman, aquaman, Shazam, the suicide squad, and black Adam. Maybe throw in your new superman (though I really think it's a terrible idea), and have an excuse to reboot any characters you want. It's an all around win.

@GwenLantern - I agree! But Rob Pattinson strike me as the kind of guy who wouldn't be willing to appear in 4-5 movies the way MCU actors do. Just getting him to train for this one movie was hard enough.

I just love how this film has a fantasy element to it in terms of tone and action. But keeps the characters grounded.

Batman Begins, as much as it may not be the best of the trilogy, is still the best version of Gotham and Batman we’ve had. The fantasy world they created in that movie, and how Batman moved and acted was perfect.

One of my only gripes about the TDK is that they totally scaled that down and made that world feel too real from the previous.

@Se4M4NSt4ine - I feel like you didn't watch Tim Burton's Batmans. Lol.

@Manmarvel - I did. And Burton made his Batman, in his Burton styled world. Which was cool, and worked for the film. But I feel like you’ve never read a Batman comic. Lol.

@Se4M4NSt4ine - Yeah exactly. Begins was easily the most “Batman stuff” movie we’ve gotten.

@Manmarvel - Burton actually chose not to follow the typical Gotham layout in the comics, he states it in an interview.

@Se4M4NSt4ine - no not many at all but I loved how Gotham felt like it's own character in the movies. Marvel has mostly grounded locations that exist in the real world but the ones that don't exist in the real world are generally over the top locations. I liked the balance of other world/could possibly be a city in the US feel of Burton's Batmans.

@Manmarvel - I mean great, good for you. But your original comment was in direct to mine, and my comment was about Batman Begins giving us the most comic accurate Batman and Gotham yet.

I have very mixed feelings about this movie. I want it to be good, and I actually think it will be, but if it is a success, we will have a whole new start to the shared universe...... again. WB's map is being copiloted by a napping spouse. "Oh hey, we should have turned back there"

regularmovieguy - 5/11/2021, 6:50 AM
@Manmarvel

This won't be a shared universe. I don't see Reeves or Pattinson vying for this Batman to show up with the Justice League. This will be their own Bat-universe if anything.

When was it said the movie would be Rated-R? I know Reeves has some freedom on this but I just can’t imagine that being allowed.

DTor91 - 5/11/2021, 5:56 AM
@OmegaBlack13 - It never was and this is twice now it’s been “reported” as such.

Just with what’s clearly aimed at toy marketing and merchandising in general with this image alone, pretty much secures it being PG-13.
