The Batman has been shooting in Liverpool, England all day, and that means we've been treated to a tonne of set photos from the highly anticipated DC Comics adaptation helmed by Matt Reeves.

Here, we get a closer look at Collin Farrell's Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, and it's crazy to see the work that's gone into completely transforming the normally very handsome actor. He's certainly in line with the comic books, and was even spotted holding an umbrella during these rainy scenes.

There are also additional shots of Bruce Wayne (Robert Pattinson) and Selina Kyle (Zoe Kravitz). Howerver, something comic book fans have noticed in this batch of photos is the fact that John Turturro's Carmine Falcone has the same scars across his face - which came courtesy of Catwoman in the source material - as his comic book counterpart.

Has he crossed paths with the vigilante? It certainly seems likely, though chances are Falcone doesn't realise Selina and that masked woman are one in the same.

It's hard not to be intrigued by what's to come in The Batman after seeing photos like these, as Reeves is clearly taking cues from the comic books for his take on these characters.

@Origame - it’s a cheap movie trick. I know it’s there and barely existing because she has no ass at all

I am intrigued. Are they best buds? I hope not. But that could be interesting. And Zoe is still hot? Eww but is she banging Cobblepot?!

Robert looks weird. Is that hairstyle supposed to be making him look younger? He looks like team Edward

@MyCoolYoung - Looks like what you'd see in 90's leading man's hairstyle.

That is some triple A-grade prosthetic work they've done on Colin Farrell. He's completely unrecognizable and it also doesn't look fake or obvious at all.

@bcom - I think it would've been funny to get Christian Bale as Penguin here, not only because of his time as Batman but also because you know he'd pack on the pounds for this part.

Surely in the Batman prequel (HBO Max), we will see the origin of the scars and the origin of Catwoman.

@Repian - guess that depends how much of a role the movie actors will have, we know Gordon will appear, for how much of it, we dont know. For all we know it could just focus on lessor known cops like Montoya and Allen

@dracula - When I read that the prequel will be told from the point of view of a corrupt policeman, I thought that the protagonist would be Gordon's first partner.

@dracula - You could just get Selena in her catsuit and just use a stunt double. Doesn't require too much since it's about the cops.

It looks like they are filming in a place that close to having to lockdown due to pandemic running out of control!
