THE BATMAN Star Colin Farrell Reveals How Long He'll Be Shooting The DC Comics Movie For

Production on The Batman was delayed due to COVID-19, and after a recent two-week hiatus caused by a positive test, star Colin Farrell (Oswald Cobblepot) reveals how long he'll be working on the movie for.

Like every other major Hollywood production, The Batman was forced to halt filming back in March due to COVID-19. After work had initially resumed on Matt Reeves' DC Comics adaptation, cameras stopped rolling again after star Robert Pattinson reportedly showed up to work with a fever and later tested positive for the virus.

Luckily, he made a full recovery, and we've seen plenty of set photos lately showing the cast at work.

During an interview on Today FM's The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show (via Digital Spy), Oswald Cobblepot actor Colin Farrell shared an update with fans, and revealed that he anticipates working on The Batman well into 2021 (which might explain that delayed release date).

"They had a little bump in the road a few weeks ago that you may or may not have read about," the Irish actor explained, confirming that he'll be playing The Penguin from now right up until next February "on and off." With that in mind, it's no great surprise that the DC Comics movie was first pushed from June to October, and then the following March.

It's better for Reeves to have the time he needs to finish The Batman rather than rushing it, and with 2021 already packed full of blockbusters, it might be better off with that 2022 debut.

Shooting is currently taking place in Chicago, and as a bonus for you, here's a new look at the Batmobile racing into action. As we're sure you'll agree, it sounds like an absolute beast!
