VIDEO: Ben Affleck Confirms He Is Directing THE BATMAN... And We Should Probably Stop Asking Him About It
Though Affleck recently suggested that it wasn't set in stone, he seems to have finally confirmed once and for all that he will indeed direct the next solo Batman movie. Now, stop asking him about it!
Probably because he was simply sick of the relentless questions, Ben Affleck recently stated that him directing Warner Bros.' next solo Batman movie wasn't necessarily a done deal.
This caused quite a bit of buzz, and most likely led to yesterday's rumor that the project had stalled - however, during his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel last night, Affleck concisely confirmed that he would helm the film.
“I’m going to direct the next Batman, we’re working on it. It’s one of those things that’s really frustrating because Live by Night took me a year and a half to write it and get it ready, and worked really hard. It’s just that nobody gave a shit, no one was like ‘Where’s Live by Night!.’ But with Batman I keep on getting ‘Where’s the [frick] is The Batman!’. Wow, I’m working, give me a second!”
Though he was mostly joking around here, it's clear that he is getting a bit frustrated with the constant Bat-related queries - so let that be the end of it! Ben Affleck is directing The Batman, and when there's something official to report, we'll know about it.
