Henry Cavill Says BATMAN V SUPERMAN Is Not A MAN OF STEEL Sequel

Superman himself, Henry Cavill has echoed what many fans have stated since the initial announcement of Batman v Superman at SDCC; that Dawn of Justice is not a direct sequel to Man of Steel.

While in Las Vegas for Warner Bros. CinemaCon presentation for The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star Henry Cavill answered whether fans should view the film as a sequel to the first entry in the budding DC Cinematic Universe, Man of Steel.  Here's what Cavill told MTV:

"I've only seen a little bit of ADR stuff, but that's it, and that wasn't even in color.  I'm hoping to see it [the whole movie] some time this year, for a friends and family screening or something. But I really know nothing about what the finished product looks like.  I wouldn't call this a Superman sequel. This is Batman versus Superman, so it's a separate entity altogether. It's introducing the Batman character, and expanding upon this universe, which was kicked off by 'Man of Steel'.  It's an introduction to the [Batman] character, and ultimately an introduction to 'Justice League.'"

One film to establish a plethora of superheroes and vastly different corners of DC Comics lore.  Can director Zack Snyder and co. pull it off?  We'll find out on March 25, 2016.
