Undateable creator Adam Sztykiel is said to be in final negotiations to write the film, which will focus on Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as the villainous character that was originally set to be introduced as the antagonist of Shazam.

Sztykiel has already worked on several projects for New Line; most of 'em comedies such as Spy Guys, Due Date and We’re the Millers 2.

There's no director attached just yet, but Black Adam will be produced by Johnson and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions, along with Beau Flynn of the Flynn Picture Company.
