I haven't had a chance to share my thoughts because my mind was too busy being blown away. BLACK PANTHER was a damn near perfect film IMO. Everyone played their roles very well, the action and fighting scenes felt very authentic as if people were actually fighting in real life as apposed to it being under the platform of very well done choreography. The story touched on so many relevancies with cultural and social political points that really hit home for me especially being a Black man and that made me more engaged and I almost teared up at certain moments. The score was awesome BTW. The film took itself seriously without being pretentious....it made you smile and laugh without being a comedy....and it conveyed messages without being preachy. If anything, the CGI in the final battle was a bit spotty at times but that was easy to look past given how much I enjoyed this film.

@SageMode - totally agree. It blows my mind when people walk out and don’t immediately comment on the MANY underlying themes and messages. Killmongers’ last line was so f*cking powerful. In a blockbuster?!
I’m half Mexican and look white but am not deaf and blind to the impact art can have.
Reneisance paintings held the opinions of the people, hiding messages in a hand placement, clothes, placement of subjects within the piece, etc.
This was something else.
This was special.
Like a perfectly created piece of music that seems like it’s always existed and the artist just plucked it from the air where we were unable to see it.
I’ve listened to/watched countless reviews (listening to ‘Pop Culture Leftovers’ pod review now) and can’t get enough perspective on this, let alone fully grasp the depth and width within myself.
This is a special, special moment and movie.
Some huge balls on the film team and Marvels part.
