There's A "Creepy" Part Of The BLACK PANTHER Comic Books That The Movie Won't Include

Black Panther is going to adapt a number of different elements from the comic books but producer Nate Moore has revealed that there's one "creepy" aspect from those which won't make it into the movie.

The depiction of women on both the big and small screens is changing for the better and that's particularly the case for comic book adaptations. Black Panther, for example, will include a lot of strong female characters and chief among them are the members of the Dora Milaje. The female warriors serve as T'Challa's bodyguards but in the source material, they're also all potential wives for the hero.

Well, talking on the set of Black Panther, producer Nate Moore was asked about their role in the story and confirmed that the betrothal aspect will not even be referenced in the Marvel adaptation.

"They’re a big part of the movie," he explained. "As you guys know Danai Gurira plays Okoye who, in our world, is the head of the Dora and a pivotal character in the movie. Exploring how they work, their role in Wakanda and their relationship with the King is a big part of the storytelling." As for which "creepy" aspect of Black Panther's many comic book adventures won't be used on the big screen next month, Moore continued: "It’s not. You know, that was sort of part of the original Christopher Priest run where they were all betrothed which we felt wasn’t necessary to tell the story of the Dora and in a way we all kind of rejected as being a little creepy. So we will not be exploring that."

A lot of changes had to be made to the world of T'Challa during the transition from page to screen and it's definitely a relief to hear that this is one of them. After all, it would make for pretty uncomfortable viewing and really won't hurt the movie in a significant way. What do you guys think? Sound off below.
