Black Widow is just days away from finally being released (remember when it was supposed to arrive in theaters last May?), and Marvel Studios has shared another featurette for the movie today.

The focus is put squarely on Taskmaster, with director Cate Shortland explaining, "I was really excited about Taskmaster being this formidable opponent." Scarlett Johansson adds to that by saying Natasha Romanoff is "at a loss" when she comes to blows with the villain, and David Harbour name drops characters such as Captain America, Black Panther, and Hawkeye as being among those Taskmaster imitates.

In our review, we concluded by saying, "Black Widow is Bourne meets Bond meets Terminator...with two outstanding, badass female leads. Action-packed, funny, and at times surprisingly gut-wrenching, Cate Shortland's vision for the MCU is bold, empowering, and utterly unmissable."

Check out this new featurette for the movie below:

"In Marvel Studios' Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises," reads the movie's synopsis. "Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger."

In the movie, Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as Natasha/Black Widow, Florence Pugh stars as Yelena, David Harbour portrays Alexei/The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz is Melina. Black Widow is directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige; Black Widow - the first big screen story in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe - arrives on July 9th both in theaters and on Disney+.

I don't think Natasha will be too much at a loss considering he is mimicking her allies combat styles. She has trained with Captain America and Hawkeye and knows their type of combat training. She would only sort of be at a loss when he fights like T'Challa because his combat style is a blend of acrobatic meets agility.

@TheDoctor1225 - From a video from a few days ago it looked like the counter measures Srark used against Cap in Civil War. What is it? A knock off by Hammer Industries?

@Darth258 - Or just stolen Hydra/SHIELD tech.

Not a fan of him being tech based at all but I am assuming this was done because Echo is on the way and they have the same abilities. Probably afraid the GA (non comic fans) might be confused by that.

@dragon316 - dude you really should take a break from blow... I’m worried for ya!

When multiple different critics that I follow because I usually align with them all say that Taskmaster is disappointing as hell and barely in the film - it’s pretty reasonable to be skeptical. Taskmaster’s look alone is already a fail.

Anyways, I’m not saying I’m going to write the film off before I see it or skip the theaters and pirate it jfc

The powers being tech-based could work to its advantage now that I think about it. Easy way passing on the mantle (or even building an army with it)
