“ just because Marvel Studios could release Black Widow doesn't mean they should have. “

I get it, the movie cost money that it couldn't recoup via streaming. MCU movies tend to be expensive and Disney isn't a kamikaze company that risks millions of dollars on a whim, they're afraid to tarnish the MCU brand. That's why Mulan became the sacrificial lamb to test the waters, it didn't work. So I can't fault them for waiting so long.

Plus Marvel had three shows to throw at their audience to keep them entertained. It just wouldn't have been a smart business decision to release it.

Hope the movie does well given the circumstances. I'll try to check it out in theatres if possible. Getting my shot today (still got to go to rehearsal afterwards) and will have my second one come June. So if theatres here open I'm in

They haven't made shit when it comes to Raya and Mulan, and rightfully so. 30 dollars is a rip off. Streaming premieres wouldn't last. It was merely instituted due to covid, and I don't see it being worth it due to the high quality pirates the day of!

@bobevanz - An argument can be made both ways for the $30 price. I understand it. Only because these are new movies that would have released in theatres first under normal circumstances, and most people don't go to the movies by themselves. So with ticket prices being what they are these days, $30 is about par for the course for 2 people to go see a new movie. As long as it isn't during the early hours when ticket prices are cheaper.

So the fact that you can pay $30 to watch a brand new movie with as many people as you want, I understand it. Thats actually very cheap. But the problem is I'm willing to bet that MANY more people are watching these movies alone on streaming services, so $30 is quite high in that situation.

Well, you don't say! Here I was thinking they were waiting for COVID to blow over so they could do reshoots.

What a surprise, it's like we're in the middle of a pandemic and studios doesn't want to lose money so they delay as much as possible

Initially when I heard about this, I was confused as to why Marvel wouldn’t continue working on it if they had the time, but then I realized it just means they have that much confidence in it, so I think this is a good thing.

Uhhh Marvel Studios is not ‘testing the waters’ when it comes to this premiere access thing. They’ve made it quite clear that they want people to go to the theaters to watch their movies, Black Widow is getting it because we’re at the end of this thing and they simply cannot wait any longer.

“Has been sat”. BRAVO, Josh! You have soared to new heights in your refusal to proof read in the slightest!

@Santanaonfire - that's correct grammar. Just cause it's not commonly used in American English doesn't mean it's wrong.

@kitheka - Fair enough. I did wonder if it might be a cultural difference. That said, even if this isn’t an example, he is terrible about proofreading and has constant typos, and it makes me a little nuts.

@Santanaonfire - it's typical British English. 'I'm sat here','He shat himself' etc. Agreed on him needing to proofread his articles. TBF, nobody reads the articles in CBM. It's all about the comment section lol.

referring to the deadpool 3, how could they possibly bring in deadpool? It'd make no sense, both his movies were clearly in the xmen universe, you cant tell me all them been hiding in the mcu this whole time, and you can't tell me deadpools actions would go unnoticed by shield. Unless they make a whole new universe, i dont see how they are going to do it to make any sense..

Any comparison of Tenet's performance should probably be avoided. That movie was almost unwatchable. I tried twice, for free, and still couldn't get into it. Among many other problems, John David Washington is not entertaining and is largely awkward in the lead.
