Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has confirmed that we will learn whether Yelena Belova was a victim of The Blip, while also dropping some intriguing hints about what comes next for Red Guardian...

Black Widow set the stage for Yelena Belova to become the Marvel Cinematic Universe's new primary Widow, though it looks like she's going to take aim at Clint Barton in Hawkeye before becoming a full-blown hero!

During a live Q&A last night, Marvel Studios President answered a number of questions from fans, confirming that we are going to find out whether Florence Pugh's Yelena was among those Blipped by Thanos when the Mad Titan attacked Earth. He wouldn't reveal any more than that (which isn't a surprise), but it will be interesting to find out what exactly happened to Natasha Romanoff's "sister."

Feige also teased the possibility of David Harbour's Red Guardian crossing paths with the MCU's new Captain America, Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson. "I'd like to see that...how about you guys?" he asked. Later, the Marvel Studios boss pointed out that Cap was frozen in ice when Alexei claims to have battled Steve Rogers, but we can't help but read a little more into his comments.

If the Soviets had their own super soldier, it's not outside the realm of possibility that a new Captain America was secretly sent into action in the decades that followed Steve's disappearance (just like when his comic book counterpart was on ice). If that's the case, Red Guardian may have battled, and defeated, a poor imitation of the real deal during the height of his career.

This was pretty cool of him to do. I do not know HOW people actually thought Alexei fought Captain America in his "glory days"...It was clearly a lie. Would have been nice if Taskmaster went full Captain America when fighting him

@BlackStar25 - I actually don't think it's a lie, the guy kept asking Natasha and talking about it after prison, either he convinced himself that he did or he actually did fight a captain America.
Now I'm assuming that the Russians just made a fake cap to go up against red guardian for propaganda purposes however red guardian didn't know the incident was fake.

@BlackStar25 - When Alexei mentioned his fight with Cap, I just assumed that the Red Guardian fought the 1950s, Soviet-era, fake Captain America Jack Monroe, which would be canon out of the comic books. FATWS never touched on whether there was a Cold War-era Captain America in the MCU, so it leaves it open to the possibility.

@GeneralZod -

Steve was around when Alexei claimed he fought Captain America.

@Deckacards - Good memory. Yes, that guy. Writer Steve Englehart came up with some wild stuff in the early- to mid-70s.

I think that the Hawkeye series makes the most sense for finding out more about her; if not there, then the sort of “Avengers” property that they seem to be setting up.

As for Red Guardian, I think that it’s simply an exaggeration, which is fitting for someone with his ego.

@WeaponXCII - I like the theory it was a fake Cap set up by his government to validate him to the people, and even he didn't know. So he's basically gotten all these tattoos to commemorate his triumph over a man he didn't really fight, I think that's hilarious and sad and would be a great character development if we see him again. Maybe Yelena tells him to shut him up about something serious she doesn't want to discuss later when they are working for Val.

Honestly, I hated how dirty they did Nat in her own solo movie making her goofy family the focus, but I do love the new characters we get out of it. Yelena and Alexi are fun.

I just wish they were introduced in this movie but side lined and never brought up in this film to then focus 100% on telling Nats origin story, then in a second Black Widow movie tell this story where the family comes back together. Give Scarlett 2 movies. I probably would have loved what we got in that case.

@ElricReturns - That's a really good theory- I like it, too. I wonder if Marvel will go with a similar idea.

I liked her family- certainly wouldn't call them "goofy". The story that we got definitely worked for me, but, yeah, I would have also liked a story that focused on Natasha more.

@Gandressmex - Bradley would've been in prison during the 80s

Alexie was just delusional

Every now and then I think about 2011 Me reading a tweet from the future where someone asks Kevin Feige "DID YELENA GET DUSTED?"

Starting to believe THIS is the Captain America that Alexei fought (William Burnside - a fake cap developed by retcon to explain the reuse of Cap by Stan Lee, Mort Lawrence, and Romita in the 50s) and that some version of his story is about to come into the MCU. Could explain why America let Cap stay "dead" (after Burnside) for so long until trying to replace him with Walker when Rogers ended his run. Also, developing the Burnside character and storyline would allow Marvel to tackle a White Supremacist story, which would attract a lot of media attention nowadays.
