BLACK WIDOW Movie Reportedly Looking To Cast A “Tough, Dangerous And Mysterious” Villain
Production on Marvel's Black Widow movie is expected to get underway very soon, and an updated character breakdown suggests that the film is now looking to cast a "black British or African" villain...
The original character breakdowns for Black Widow were pretty vague, but they did mention that Marvel Studios and director Cate Shortland were searching for an "exciting" actor of any ethnicity in his 40s to play the main antagonist. However, it looks like things have changed somewhat on that front after the recent script rewrites from Ned Benson.
According to That Hashtag Show, they're now looking to cast a "Black British or African actor, 30-45, to portray a tough, dangerous and mysterious villain."
There's been speculation that the baddie might be a Russian character such as Crimson Dynamo or Red Guardians, but that now seems unlikely. Taskmaster, perhaps?
With cameras set to roll on the solo Black Widow movie in just a few months time we should start to hear casting news very soon, so keep an eye on CBM for updates. In the meantime, let us know who you think this mysterious villain might be in the comments.
