The first social media reactions for Black Widow have arrived and, as expected, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's return to the big screen has definitely been welcomed by critics.

While we're on our third Marvel Studios TV show this year, this shared world has been absent from the big screen since Spider-Man: Far From Home's release in 2019. If the Tweets below are any indication, Black Widow kicks Phase 4 off in style with an action-packed, powerful adventure featuring scene-stealing performances from Florence Pugh and David Harbour.

While it sounds like Red Guardian is fun to spend time with, it's seemingly Yelena Belova who will soon be established as a fan-favourite new addition to the MCU.

Oh, and yes, there will be a post-credits scene!

As always, social media reactions do tend to be extremely positive, but there are a few criticisms here. However, with so many trusted names weighing in, it feels like this will be another hit for Marvel Studios (it's just a shame it won't be able to dominate the box office as it likely would have done in a pre-pandemic market, because this is a movie that could have easily topped $1 billion).

Check out these reactions below (including ours), and come back here later this month for a review!

@BlackBeltJones - She's literally just a click baiter. Besides her mostly wrong scoops she enjoys trying to pit the Marvel and DC fanbases against each other because she profits from all the traffic.

Earlier this year she tried to help the perception on WW84 by wondering aloud on twitter how the audience would react to the fact that the first couple episodes of WandaVision weren't full of action after that was a main complaint about WW84. The obvious facts that WV was a show and was not marketed to be action heavy at all seemed to escape her logic.

Sounds like a good combination. I'm liking just how gritty this one looks with the Winter Soldier vibes.

@KingPatel - an MCU version of those movies (plus the Americans) is exactly the vibe all the trailers have given off. I simply do not understand why people (especially MCU fans) are not f***king pumped for this.

Good to hear. Although I always take early reactions with a grain of salt and they’re always over-the-top, Marvel’s record speaks for itself.

Let's goooooooooooo. Have been so pumped for this movie! This one line in their review makes me very happy "and Cate Shortland approaches Russo levels of physicality and intensity." The Russos were legendary with their fight sequences (and handling any character they touched) so this is just awesome.

Also....Florence, yes.

So in Scarlett's first and only solo movie, she's outshined by Pugh? Say what?
JermareCBM
JermareCBM - 6/17/2021, 9:32 AM
@KingLeonidas - Nobody said she was outshined. They said Pugh stole the show, which isn't that out of the ordinary for a new actor/character to a franchise.
TheBlueMorpho
TheBlueMorpho - 6/17/2021, 9:32 AM
@KingLeonidas -

That's fine. Cause Pugh is going to be taking over so its better for her to get the shine but I understand your problem with it.
