With less than a month to go until Black Widow arrives in theaters and on Disney+, it's been confirmed today that tickets are now officially on sale (pre-orders on the streaming service's "Premier Access" service have also begun). With that news comes some fresh content from the movie!

First, we have a 45-second TV spot featuring some killer new shots of Taskmaster leaping into action, and while that costume isn't the best design we've seen in the MCU, this character still looks every bit the badass.

There's also a new clip that puts the spotlight on Natasha Romanoff and Yelena Belova's dynamic. With the stage being set for Yelena to become this world's new Black Widow, she's obviously going to be a character who is worth keeping a close eye on.

"In Marvel Studios' Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises," reads the movie's synopsis. "Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger."

In the movie, Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as Natasha/Black Widow, Florence Pugh stars as Yelena, David Harbour portrays Alexei/The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz is Melina. Black Widow is directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige; Black Widow - the first big screen story in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe - arrives on July 9th both in theaters and on Disney+.

Definitely has a Bourne feel to it, like TWS did.

I’m curious how many people will choose to stay home vs go to the theater. I’m all for going to theater. I will most likely only do this for Marvel movies lol. So...who is staying home, who is going to the theater??

@Frshcoupe - I'm catching this one at home for sure. Probably won't be back in a theater until Eternals

Feels a lot like Bourne to me, and I'm not too sure how I feel about it. Gonna have to see the whole movie though before I say ''this direction is boring and sucks''

Definitely seeing this in theaters. Watching movies at home isn't the same experience.

I only see all new releases in the theaters. I just saw A Quiet Place II, "The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, and Cruella in the theaters. Only way to get the full Cinema Experience.

What would be considered a "success" at the boxoffice with this, considering most people, in the U.S. at least, are not going back to theatres?

@Waddles - Same.
I just don't know how they're gonna calculate what is "successful" for bigger budget flicks like this going forward.

I know the crowds will return, eventually, in theatres, but that's going to be a slow process domestically imo.

It would be interesting to see the results of a huge "event" movie if there was one scheduled this year (something like Endgame).
I think we'll see much much smaller grosses domestically for big budget movies this year into next either way.

@Feralwookiee - I don't think cinemas are going to be open in the UK anytime soon.

Covid cases are on the rise.

@marvel72 - Yeah. Same thing a lot of places. I would expect more layoffs and closings this winter too.

Numbers are finally going seriously down again, cinemas are planning to officially open back up in July, I'm fully vaccinated - if nothing goes sideways over the next month I should be able to continue my streak of catching every MCU movie in the theater.

Since neither my girlfriend nor most of my friends are fully vaccinated yet (or at all), though, we might also have to make small D+ Premier Access watchparties.

Just got mine. I’m fully vaxxed and have been to the theater twice now. Once for Army of the Dead (to a non-surprising completely empty theater) and last week for A Quiet Place 2. That was unfortunately a terrible experience in which these guys wouldn’t stop talking and making noise until I told them to stfu so I’m hoping this goes a lot better.

@Ha1frican -
Been hearing horror stories about theaters these days. I can't believe these assholes haven't stepped up their game with security and horrid customers. It's why people will continue to stay home.

@Ha1frican - how crowded or empty was the theater for Quiet Place 2?
Ha1frican
Ha1frican - 6/11/2021, 12:40 PM
@Frshcoupe - Hmm I dont know for sure but it was pretty slim. There was a group of like 3-4 in the same row as me, then the group of 6 or so assholes that were causing problems and then probably another 12 or so scattered in groups around the theater

Ha1frican - 6/11/2021, 12:44 PM
@Battabing - I actually complained after which I hate doing as someone who works in customer service. The row they were in was supposed to be blocked off for social distancing and despite multiple theater checks the attendant didnt say anything to them. The theaters here have had assigned seating for a few years now but people have now taken to just ignoring that bc half the theater is empty anyway

I’m not sure if I’ll be buying tickets in advance (might have to for a movie like this, though), but I’m definitely interested in knowing what the final figure for sales is.

I just rejoined AMC A-List so I got tix for me and my girlfriend who I’m slowly getting into Marvel films! It’s a very exciting time.

Anyways I don’t have high hopes with this film but I do like the cast so we will see.:

They really should've made this one in the fashion of a big budget spy movie a la Bond or Mission Impossible rather than the traditional MCU aesthetic and method
