BOYS DON'T CRY Director Kimberley Peirce Is Also On The Shortlist To Helm BLACK WIDOW
Another filmmaker's name has been added to the shortlist of directors that are reportedly in the running to helm Marvel Studios' Black Widow movie: Kimberley Peirce (Body Don't Cry, the Carrie remake)...
We've already reported on several directors that are said to have met with Marvel Studios about potentially helming the planned Black Widow movie, and now we can add another name to the shortlist.
According to entertainment reporter Jeff Sneider, Kimberley Peirce is also in the running to direct the first solo adventure for Natasha Romanoff, which will see Scarlett Johansson reprise the role of the lethal former assassin.
Peirce is best known for her harrowing debut feature Boys Don't Cry, which she followed up with Stop Loss and the more recent Carrie remake starring Chloe Grace Moretz.
Though plot details have yet to be revealed, the film is expected to be a prequel which will focus on Widow's early life before joining The Avengers.
