There's a huge amount of excitement surrounding the upcoming Blade movie starring Mahershala Ali, and we may now have a very early synopsis that teases what to expect from the Marvel Studios Phase 4 title.

A leaked production listing for Blade has found its way online, and there's a chance this gives us our first rough idea of what direction Marvel Studios plans to take the Daywalker in.

Synopses like this one are sometimes shared by the studio itself and can also be lifted off the internet by production companies, so there's no way of knowing for sure. Regardless, it makes for interesting reading and might offer a better idea of what to expect when writer Stacy Osei-Kuffour and director Bassam Tariq's movie starring Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali finally sees the light of day.

"Himself a half-human/half-vampire, 'Daywalker' Eric Brooks (Ali) has honed his abilities to hunt down the undead who have long terrorized mankind," it reads. "A human-vampire hybrid since his tragic birth, Blade has spent his long life seeking to rid the world of vampires like the one that killed his mother. Over the years, he has mastered his own style of fighting monsters of all kinds."

Eternals set the stage for Blade to team up with Dane Whitman/Black Knight, so it remains to be seen if we're getting a new origin story for the character. Picking up with him a little later in his vampire hunting career makes sense, though, and his history can easily be explored with an opening sequence of flashbacks (Marvel Studios has moved away from traditional origin stories in recent years).

We don't have a release date for Blade just yet, but expect to see it in theaters sometime in 2023.

@lordSTALE - It reminds me of the first rave I was going to go to when I was 16 or 17, it was in New Orleans and they always had it, this big place in the French quarter, I didn’t go. It got raided.

Close call

@lordSTALE - I get it looks stupid, but the whole point of that fight was to show how similar master and apprentice were. Those twirls while largely illogical in sword fighting are supposed to be distraction techniques the Jedi did because their opponents could use the force to predict movement. The symmetry here is that both Obi-Wan and Anakin thought to do it at the same time.

@SamaelSaint - Interesting excuse for really bad choreography

@SamaelSaint - they incorporated elements of Kali where the weapon is kept moving in spectacular fashion to increase momentum and allow for quick transition. However one must remain in motion and it was poorly executed. The twirls are on point but not if your are actually facing an opponent.

@lordSTALE - Well considering it’s what they stated while coming up with the choreography, it’s not really an excuse. They clearly thought it was cool and that audiences would understand what they were putting down. As it turned out, not cool and audiences most definitely did not pick up what they were putting down.

@Juggernaut2021 - Ultimately all the techniques they borrowed from were very-very wrong. Only used for cinematic visuals.
