Expect Something Different

This is a biggie for me. If Marvel can make their streaming shows up to the quality of their movies, then we're entering a hell of a new era for the franchise.

Mackie has low-key been an MVP of the MCU. I'm expecting and hoping for great things.

@Spock0Clock - I always wondered what it would be like if the marvel universe were tv shows vs movies. Like a good size budget and the same writers. They could accomplish a lot more story and keep the same actors longer.

@Spock0Clock - I'd respectfully disagree and say Antman/Scott has been MVP. But I do love Falcon

@Vigor - Can a whole team be MVPs? I don't know how sports works.

@Spock0Clock - Fairly sure the streaming shows exist solely to satisfy the fans who wanted to see more of these characters - allowing the old cast to be completely removed from the film series meaning that people are exposed entirely to the new cast of characters.

If it was not for the streaming shows and a lot of the old cast just randomly did not appear after Endgame then it would feel a bit more jarring. Though to be fair, for those skipping the streaming service, it's going to feel like that.

@Spock0Clock - not much of a sports follower myself but something tells me most valuable player is singular

Anyone else find Mackie annoying?

While I'm not really a fan of anyone but Steve being Captain America, the handover scene in Endgame was beautifully written.

@TheManWithoutFear - It was well written for the context of Endgame, not so much in the grand scheme of the MCU. A lot of focus was on the relationship between Captain America and Bucky and that was kind of ignored to pass the mantle to Falcon (Who only really had Winter Soldier to stand on)

Personally i think it should have been handled differently - with Bucky getting the mantle and then (in the streaming shows) passing it to Falcon. The audience knows little about Falcon at the moment and it was jarring to see him get the shield without him having much development with Cap.

This would have allowed the streaming shows effectively the option of having 'evil Captain America' if Bucky was taken over by Hydra or someone and to develop Falcon more as a character before he gets the title.

It would also allow for a more conflicted portrayal of Captain America - as Bucky desperately tries to live up to the mantle Steve has given him. It'd also be interesting that Bucky, whose actions broke the Avengers apart, is now taking the title held by the original leader of the Avengers.

@Scarilian

I agree with everything you said, and Bucky would have been my first choice too. But I see why it might have been problematic.

Tony was solely against Buck just not being in prison, but to then have him be Cap directly after Tony kicks the bucket? It would have been poor taste.

I like Mackie. Met him at the gym once. He worked in with me and didn't say a word. Lol
