Really liked the movie, a solid 8/10. Didn't care for Goose at all, don't know what the hype for that was. CGI was rough (especially on Goose) but the practical makeup and costumes were a highlight for me. Starforce scenes were dope, makes me continue to want more and more a straight up Marvel war movie.

In terms of the Mar-Vell twist, I super dug it. They were never going to really use Mar-Vell to the extent some people wanted, so I was totally cool with switching up the gender. It adds more to the overall theme of empowerment. Carol's powers didn't stem from a man, they came from a powerful, intelligent woman. Perfect.

Some little girls are really going to be so happy with this movie, and that's good enough for me!

@Ha1frican - Really? I dunno! All the early reviews loved him! He was just fine to me I guess. Wonky cgi always throws me off and he just didn't look too good through most of the movie to me. Glad you enjoyed him tho!

@Vocloz - I didn't think the CGI was bad for goose, outside of one scene (and it wasn't bad, just noticeable). And I really liked Goose, the Flerken served its purpose well. But it didn't outshine characters such as Carol, for example.

@Vocloz - I do agree that Goose was not used to full potential. He was cool in the couple of scenes he got, but everyone was saying he was such a highlight. I don't think so.

@Vocloz - I mean yeah the CG was rough in some spots as it’s always going to be with live action animals but I liked him but then again I love cats so I was kinda in the bag for that. I wish I didn’t know that he was an alien going in bc that would have been a great reveal

@Vocloz - I don't wanna hear ANY bitching about spoilers.

You know something? To me, next to Infinity War, this is THE BEST Marvel Studios movie ever. I mean, it hit on ALL cylinders. And the Skrulls turn out to be the victims? Guess we won't be getting Secret Wars or Secret Invasion, which is cool with me.

And when Carol shows up in the mid-credits scene, I nearly CAME.

Brie Larson just freaking KILLED the role. Just PERFECT. And she is so freaking hot!

I give Captain Marvel 10/10. I could find no fault at all, it IS the movie I have waited for, and it DELIVERED.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Dude, that movie is freaking MAGICAL!!!! I just simply loved it. Brie, Sam, CLARK, and the Skrull dude. Just BRILLIANT! And when Brie shows up at the end and says, "Where's Fury?" Awwwwwwwww, MAN!!!!!!! And then when Goose pukes up the Tesseract?????

Those thinking this movie prevents the Secret Invasion storyline from happening, YOU'RE WRONG!!! This movie successfully introduces the Skrulls, who were great, especially Talos who I can't wait to see again. Talos makes it clear that he is acting the way he is just to survive through the war, and it seems that he and the group of refugees are just caught up in a war that they have no control over. Talos even tells his wife to shield his child's eyes from him taking out some Kree guards. As in any war, not everyone that looks like the 'warring race' is inherently bad....

I think the sequel should firmly explore the Kree-Skrull War, and with that comes evil Skrulls...

@HeavyMetal4Life - I think a lot of people complaining about the Skrulls being good don’t understand that the Skrulls, in the comics, were split into multiple different fractions who have even gone to war with each other.

But a lot of this reminds of when people used to complain about how Hydra was wasted in TFA before TWS. They lack the patience to watch these things play out.

@DoubleD - oh it doesn't have to be the full movie, that's not what I was saying. But the movie should be designed around the Kree-Skrull War. We need to see more of Hala and the Kree, more about the Skrulls (and what the motivations are for most of them), probably need to have a Super Skrull teased, etc. But this movie felt like a part 1 of 2, and there is a huge gap that needs to be filled.

The Skrulls get wind that Talos and the gorup have defected from their war effort against the Kree, and they come under attack from both the Kree and the rest of the Skrulls (perhaps Skrulls see them as traitors, or are furious with Talos for failing to act on an order to take over Earth for them). This leads to Talos and Carol teamin up, and after the evil Skrulls see Carol in action, they decided to design Super Skrulls to match her powers...
