My thoughts on some of these points:

- the Stan tribute was very nice, and I really loved his cameo just as much. It was a beautiful moment between him and Carol, and it was very touching and really made you feel his loss.

- the Starforce v Skrull battle was pretty good

- Talos going through her memories was neat, and her escape from and fight against the Skrulls was great.

- didn't care as much for Mar-Vell, not enough time spent with her

- Carol going binary was great, visually stunning

- the Flerken was great and a highlight of the scenes it was in, but it didn't outshine the major characters such as Carol, Fury, Talos.

- the space battle was great, wish it could have been longer, but loved her showdown with Ronan's ships. And the look on Ronan's face when she is outside his ship.... priceless. Also kind of liked how Carol pulled an Indiana Jones on Yon-Rogg in that final fight.

- was neat to see some other comic costume colors appear on Carol when Monica was playing around with the color function of her suit.

- Fury taking inspiration from Carol's call sign to name the protector initiative the "Avengers" initiative was great.

- that mid credits Endgame scene was FREAKING AMAZING AND EPIC AND SERIOUS AF. Got me right in the mood for Endgame, holy hell what a scene.

Overall, Captain Marvel was a 'good/solid' movie around an 8 to 8.5/10. Have a lot of thoughts about the film for sure, on what worked and didn't work, how it sets up a sequel, etc. As of now for me, CM is in the middle tier of MCU films, near the bottom of this grouping; certainly not in the low tier of MCU films.

I still can't get over the fact that Nick Fury lost his eye to a cat and he's just been bullshitting to everyone that it was some amazing story this whole time.

I was really enjoying the movie up until that point. What gets me is most the fact that he continued to hold the cat up to his face and pet it even after he knew that it had tentacles in its mouth. Not only that he continued to keep the cat in his office even after that.

Imagine that scene in the Winter Soldier when Cap is all like "soldiers trust each other" if Fury had said "Last time I trusted a cat it scratched my eye out"
