Well she is the Captain after all and that was an order. 👌

Brie is really getting backlash for comments from the past. I just want this to be a good film, that pushes the MCU forward. Fingers crossed....

@tripttwe - That's a little something we like to call "fake outrage"

@DnA - Shows how screwed up society is when they’re more willing to attack a woman for advocating diversity and inclusion like it’s a bad thing, then they’ll turn round and sow their mouths shut when it comes to calling out actual racist and sexist bigots, bringing out a list of excuses a mile long as to why we should not discuss such things, starting with “the subject makes me uncomfortable” and ending with “I secretly agree with what they have to say”.

It's depressing to see the Facebook comments on all the trailers just full-on criticising her as some sort of sexist bigot because she's an advocate for inclusion. I, for one, think she's wonderful and I've never been more excited for a film. The general public are so sensitive and venomous these days. Hope it does well at the Box Office.

@DannyN176 - What she said didn’t even come anywhere close to be considered “cringey”.

It’s sad just how many people are looking for things to make trouble out of nothing.

@DannyN176 - Hence why even this comments section is such a safe-haven. Facebook comments are the worst of the worst. They cannot be reasoned with; you point out how they're wrong and they just fire back a..

@Nebula - Absolutely! I don't even engage, but I just have a quick read to see what people are saying.

I frequently regret it.

Advocating for inclusion would be to try and encourage people of colour or of a specific sex to try and become film critics.

Not stating multiple times that she does not feel movies are made to be inclusive, stating that specific movies are made to appeal only to 'women of colour' (Wrinkle In Time) or claiming that a movie was made with a feminist mindset (Captain Marvel)

In regards to several of her remarks, this video helps cover it. Specifically 8:52 examines Brie's remarks on excluding white people from the press tour;

Meanwhile this Youtuber sums up the feeling of most the fanbase at the moment, the idea that the movie is going to be average/mediocre and that the media and Brie are making a large deal out of it. She also changes her mind on the Rotten Tomatoes scenario after it is explained.

Brie Larson in general does not portray herself as the nicest of people, she used Stan Lee's death to promote herself and show off her lifestyle and she has a habit of making everything about sexism or politics. It leads to multiple scenarios where she says something that is phrased poorly and in an offensive way.

If that were true, this movie wouldn’t be projected to make 120M-150M OW, but it is. Just because you make a little more noise, doesn’t make you the majority.

@PlusUltra -
It's predicted to make $100m+ but that is riding off Infinity War and based on predicted pre-sale tickets rather than actual ticket sales.

You then have Forbes trying to get clicks, as usual, by claiming it will make $150m - even clarifying it as nonsense by stating "possible" to cover themselves.

Simple fact is that the major trouble Captain Marvel will face is Brie Larson's comments, competition from Shazam in (April) and finally Endgame (end of April) basically covering marketting, media and hyped.

Shazam lacks the negativity surrounding it and despite looking cheesy as heck, might actually be a viable competition for Captain Marvel - especially after Aquaman.

You think a movie about a character that wasn’t even in Infinity War and hasn’t even been featured in Endgame’s trailers is only going to bag one of the biggest opening weekends of the year because of Infinity War? Wowee, your lapse of logic is astounding.

I just can't get excited for this film, no matter what I do.

The only reason I'll be seeing it in theaters is connection to Endgame. I doubt there will be blu ray/online release before Endgame, so I must go.

Feige is a pure evil genious, lol.
