There's soooooo many projects in development that I can't even keep track of or care about these rumors anymore. And scoopers are taking advantage of that so they're throwing whatever shit they can come up with at the wall. It's not as exciting as it used to be.

Bet he reforms the Avengers with Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Ant Man, and Wasp. That would be sweet!

@GarthRanzz - wouldn’t it make sense for him to show up in whatever they’re developing for She Hulk?

@MuadDib - I think of him as more an Avengers-Hulk character and we have never got the classic team in one scene yet. It's what I want the most in the next Avengers.

This is the same guy who started that rumor that the full rights to Hulk and Namor had gone back to Marvel. Man I really hope that Hulk rumor is true since I would kill for another Hulk solo film.

What did Rick Jones ever contribute to the Marvel Universe?

I mean he hasn't been relevant for literally decades.

You could easily write him out of every major storyline he has ever been part of.

An MCU Rick Jones is gonna be whack unless they revamp his character completely.

For once I don't want them to stick with the comics for a character.

@MaximusTheMad - "What did Rick Jones ever contribute to the Marvel Universe?"

-While, far from my favorite Marvel character, it would be absurd to say that RJ didn't contribute much to the Marvel Universe.
Rick has been a sidekick to Hulk, Captain America, Mar-Vell, and Rom. For better or worse, Rick Jones is somewhat "responsible" for the creation of the Hulk and even became the Hulk in later issues. Again, he's mostly a supporting character, but to suggest he's not really important in the history of the Marvel Universe is flat out wrong imo.

@MaximusTheMad - I think Rick Jones embodied all of the pent up desire of Marvel fans to have a Jimmy Olsen-style character and isolated it into a single (mostly disposable) package, and the Marvel mythos is all the better for it.

I guess the question is whether you personally want Marvel exploring deconstructed/reconstructed sidekick tropes. It's a matter of taste. DC will always have a lot to say about sidekicks (and I love that about DC), but Marvel just naturally tends toward peers/friends/supporting cast.

But if you're really hungry for the MCU to do their own take on the teenage sidekick, it might be fun to see what they do with Rick.

Mar-Vell:s cancer.

@Spock0Clock -

IMO, the only sidekick dynamics worth mentioning in Marvel comics are Cap/Bucky, Wolverine/Kitty Pryde, and Wolverine/Jubilee.

In more recent stories, Daredevil and Blindspot did make an impression on me.
