Move Over THOR, Brie Larson Wants To See CAPTAIN MARVEL Battle Mark Ruffalo's HULK

While promoting The Glass Castle, actress Brie Larson briefly talks about her hesitancy on accepting the role of Captain Marvel and says the Avenger she'd most like to tangle with is Hulk.

Brie Larson has previously stated that she had some serious hesitation about joining the MCU as it requires actors to greatly readjust their schedule and even limits what projects they can accept as so much of the calendar is reserved for whatever Marvel's planning.  She touches on those thoughts again in a new interview with USA Today for her upcoming film, The Glass Castle.

"The Captain Marvel thing was something I really spent a lot of time thinking about.  And eventually I came to the conclusion that being part of a giant feminist film that can be a symbol for people, that was one I wished I would have had, just outweighs some of the small annoyances (of fame). Like, they’re really small in comparison to the good that it can do."

With Larson ultimately accepting the role, will Captain Marvel keep with comic book tradition and find her fighting one of The Avengers (as heroes usually do when first meeting) before teaming up to stop the true villain?  And if so, which one would Larson like to face?

"I do kind of have fantasies of battling The Hulk, just because that's like, it's just visually so good."

In the Time Runs Out event which preceded the collapse of the Marvel Universe in Secret Wars (2015), this is how a Hulk vs Captain Marvel confrontation played out. After Carol unloaded everything she had on the Green Goliath, he casually launched her into space.

However, just last year, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige stated that Carol Danvers would be a tad bit stronger than this particular version of the character. "With Captain Marvel there’s so much potential in the comics and there have been so many incarnations of her powers and the characters who’ve had that mantle that we’ve been focusing in on exactly how do we tell her origin...Her powers are off the charts, and when she’s introduced, she will be by far the strongest character we’ve ever had."
