Ever since it was revealed that Batman’s greatest foe, the Joker, was a moniker used by three separate people, fans have been waiting patiently to learn more about the new mystery. Now, we have some intriguing new details on the series that will likely answer all of our questions, Batman: Three Jokers.

First off, we have confirmation that the series will be a part of DC Comics' Black Label but will still obviously connect to the continuity of the main universe.

Also, writer Geoff Johns ended all speculation that the three Jokers are different versions of the insane villain from alternate worlds and calls the series “a very grounded, emotional story.”

Johns then revealed that the three heroes at the center of the story will be those who have been most deeply affected by the Clown Prince of Crime: Batman, Barbara Gordon and Jason Todd. Finally, he said the mystery at the heart of the arc  "connects [Bruce Wayne] to the Joker in a way that will change their relationship forever." So expect to see some very big revelations when the book goes on sale.

Check out some stunning artwork by Jason Fabok, which features nods to classic stories like Death in the Family and The Killing Joke, below:

I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out, but I also hate the idea that there have been three different Jokers this entire time. I prefer the previous explanation from the comics - that The Joker has a "super-sanity" awareness. He is unpredictable and has no definitive personality, so he is constantly re-inventing himself. This is why he's a harmless prankster one day, and a mass-murderer on another.

Sorry about posting the same comment multiple times. Something wrong with my Wifi. At first the comment wouldn't post at all... Next thing you know, it posted 5000000 times. I think I got all the duplicates deleted :/

@Darkknight2149 - Your "super-sanity" awareness may still be a thing. Even with these three incarnations of The Joker, he's been more than just three different personalities. What this still doesn't answer, is how Batman can kill The Joker multiple times, but he still comes back as if nothing happened to him? Even this Three Jokers thing doesn't explain that, because he's been killed more than three times in continuity.

@SisterSunday52 - Dionysium. They explain it in Endgame. Dionysium has kept him alive and even kept Batman alive once.

So cool! Can't wait for this. When will we get this? Is it going to be multipart story or one big graphic novel? Is Jason Fabok going to do all the art for this (really hoping so, he is one of the best around at the time)?

It's a three issue mini-series, with each issue being forty-six pages long.

The joker with his hand over his eye shot Barbara. The joker with the crowbar killed Jason Todd. The Joker sitting down and hands over his mouth killed Thomas and Martha Wayne.

@TheBeard - Reading your comment made me realize that the Jokers are doing the Three Monkeys. Which is a symbol for "not dwelling on evil thoughts" and "moral responsibility" which is interesting (or not, I cant tell ha ha)

Sounds incredibly stupid. Geoff Johns "jumped the shark" a long time ago. The man is a legit hack.

@johnnymarr - It must be nice to be a hack who saved Green Lantern from cancellation, Flash from cancellation, Aquaman from both cancellation and complete humiliation as a character, and wrote one of the only New 52 titles worth reading (Justice League)

@GAThrawnIGF -
Not to mention that he has created a variety of essential characters to the DC Universe, including a huge chunk of the Green Lantern lore, he helped engineer DC Rebirth after the controversy that was The New 52 (and the awful DC You relaunch that followed), and has written borderline masterpieces like the first volume of Batman: Earth One. I'm not saying that he has never made any mistakes, but calling him a "legit hack" is just laughable.

@GAThrawnIGF - Geoff Johns fans certainly have selective memory for the best bits of his work. His Flash Rebirth wasn't as successful as Green Lantern Rebirth. Yes, his run on Green Lantern was very successful. On the other hand, the character development of Hal Jordan was close nonexistent during his tenure on the title. He was deeply involved with the New 52, and his New 52 Justice League was absolutely mediocre.

Geoff Johns didn't created the DCU, my friend. Very competent writers worked on these characters before Johns. Buy some trade paperbacks and learn a little bit about the past of your favorite characters.
