DC Comics Announces DCEASED: HOPE AT WORLD'S END Digital-Only Series Which Launches TODAY

Like the film and television industry, comic books have essentially been put on hold as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus far, publishers have held off on releasing Digital titles if they can't be released in comic book stores, but DC Comics just made a game-changing announcement by revealing plans for a new addition to its Digital First line: DCeased: Hope at World's End

Written by Tom Taylor with artwork from Dustin Nguyen, Renato Guedes, Carmine Di Giandomenico, and Marco Failla, the first issue goes on sale today and is a spinoff of the main DCeased series.

It's set to reveal what led to Earth's heroes falling to the zombie Anti-Life Equation, and will follow Superman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Stephanie Brown, Wally West, Black Adam, Jimmy Olsen, and a number of other familiar faces (it takes place in during that time jump in DCeased #5).

"There was a point in DCeased where we had to make the decision to skip weeks of losses and triumphs and heroism or our first miniseries wouldn't exactly be a miniseries," Taylor said in a statement. "But we knew we had a larger story to tell, so we seeded plots we could expand on and deliberately left huge characters off the table for the future. That future is here."
