Marvel Shares A Touching Video Tribute Remembering The Life And Legacy Of Stan Lee

Marvel and The Walt Disney Company have put together a beautiful video paying tribute to Stan Lee in which archive footage and interviews with current creators are used to remind us what an impact he had.

It's been roughly 24 hours since we learned that Stan Lee had passed away and it's fair to say that everyone is still reeling. While Marvel Studios is no doubt planning a special tribute to "The Man" next March when Captain Marvel is released, Marvel Entertainment and The Walt Disney Company have released a video today sure to tug at your heartstrings. 

It's a lovely way of paying homage to the life and legacy of the legendary comic book creator and seeing those interviews from the past is definitely a treat (especially when you realise just how handsome Lee was in his youth). 

Over the coming weeks, we're bound to see even more tributes paid to Lee but this is the "official" one for now and Marvel has done a superb job putting it together. With any luck, Marvel Comics will release some special issues featuring his best stories because younger fans being exposed to his work is a must and I'm sure many of us would love to re-read them.

R.I.P. Stan Lee. We have lost a Titan of Creativity and Industry. These are my last photos with Stan, taken in August at his home by Jon Bollerjack. I was summoned by “The Man”, he wanted a friendly face, a change of pace. I was up the next day. He was peaceful and comfortable and in great spirits. He sat in his favorite chair overlooking his pool and the beautiful canyons. I thanked him for being a visionary, not just creatively, but being a visionary in bringing Marvel to Hollywood, knowing how well they would be served by tv and film. Kids of the 1970’s, kids my age grew up with The Hulk tv show, live action Spider Man TV movies, Dr. Strange film on CBS. It was an exciting time and it was a result of Stan’s decision to travel west and present the Marvel characters to Hollywood. He started the Marvel Age Of Comics as well as the Marvel Age Of Film that we enjoy today. I have many stories from my history and travels with Stan. We never had a better Ambassador. And we won’t ever see another like him. All I know is the Good Lord has pulled up a chair and Stan is currently bending all the ears in the heaven’s with his amazing tales and lore. A few things about yesterday...
1. I cried so much yesterday. I kept losing tears from losing a real-life hero
2. I was so happy Josh Wilding did not break the news on this site. don't know why, but I would have been pissed if he did. I didn't even open his article with his tribute to him cause I ain't going to let him profit off of stan's death.

I opened this one... but did so in INCOGNITO mode. =)

Since everyone is telling their story about how much Stan meant to them, I'll put in my two cents.

There are worse things to go through I know, but when I was 8 years old, my parents had a nasty divorce. One side of my family was telling me one thing and the other side, another story. I very vulnerable and I didn't know who to trust or believe. The only thing I could rely on was my oldest brothers old wooden crate of 70's and 80's X-Men comics. Not to mention the cartoons of Spider-Man and his amazing friends and that horrible x-men cartoon Pryde of the X-Men i watched about 8,000 times. Stan was a comforting voice for me with his voice-overs for those shows and once I really got into comics, I really learned that I could learn a lot from them. They helped me grow as a person, especially the X-Men comics. I was living with two families that didn't like each other, but I learned that you could have crazy abilities and could be extremely unique and different, but could still find common ground and work together. And I went back into the older issues of Avengers and Captain America and I realized the man that Stan wrote back then as Steve Rogers, was someone that I wanted to be. He was THE super hero. I learned how to judge people on their character alone, that real strength comes from within, that taking the high road is always the best choice, and that evil will never win in the long run. So without Stan Lee and his creations, I seriously don't know who I would have become. All of his characters from the Hulk to Black Panther made an impact on my life and how I treat the people around me.

I just wish I could have told him in person how much I appreciate how much of an inspiration he was to me and everyone like me. This is day two and I am still crying. He was a national treasure and we seriously need more people like Stan Lee, Mr. Rogers, Jim Henson, Bob Ross, and anyone that can still see the good in people.

Miss you Stan. RIP

It hurts that he is gone, but i find solace in knowing that he is home now.
