One of the final recordings made of Stan "The Man" Lee has been revealed today and, well, there's a very good chance it will leave you a blubbering wreck! As you can see below, his social media team was getting ready to shoot some footage when the frail looking comic book creator spontaneously started talking about how much his fans mean to him.

"I love my fans," Lee begins. "I cannot tell you how much I love my fans. Sometimes at night, I am sitting here thinking, 'What's it all about?' And then I get a letter from a fan or I read something or I see something or I remember something. And I realize, it's so lucky to have fans, fans who really care about you. That's the reason I care so much about the fans because they make me feel so great."

He continues, "And there's something, if you think about it, wonderful about someone caring about you — as I care about them — whom you've never met. They may live in another part of the world. But they care and you have something in common. And occasionally you contact each other. But this business of fans I think is terrific, and I love them all."

Since the news broke about Lee's death, countless celebrities and fans have paid their respects to the man responsible for dreaming up the likes of Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and Iron Man.

This video is a lovely tribute from Lee to his fans and it's great to see just how highly he regarded the people who cared for him. As always, feel free to let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

That made me tear up a bit. This is an A class guy who unlike a lot of celebrities, embraced his fame wholeheartedly and always seemed thrilled to interact with his fans, because I think he knew what he meant to them and alternatively they clearly meant a lot to him.

I just want to say something as this is the onkycomment board I frequent—-

When this news broke out I was on a work week, which meant no emotion just do what we pay you to do. But I’m on my weekend now, with a bottle of scotch and this has now hit me, the reality of it all.

Without revealing what I do for a living, numbers are and were my strength and even as a child I didn’t feel the need to learn how to read. My mother bought me a subscription to Amazing Spiderman in the first grade. It opened my world. Stan taught me to read.

Now I have a Master’s Degree. I will be eternally grateful to this man. Good man. Good life.

@Reverend - I'm burning with curiosity on what you do for a living now.

Super touching story tho, it's so crazy how much impact a person could have and never even know.

@Starlight - I think "Marvel Comics, The Untold Story" would be a good script. Stan is there heavily but it also hits on the old bullpen and other legends, some of which didn't always get along with Stan.

It's sad to see his later videos. We could see for the past two years or so that Stan's time was coming. He wasn't nearly as enthusiastic or energized as he used to be.

I've never cried over the loss of a celebrity or someone I've never met. The loss of Stan totally broke me, I couldn't hold back the tears. My childhood was Amazing, Fantastic, Incredible, UNCANNY! All thanks to Stan Lee. Though he may no longer be with us physically, he'll be with us forever through the wonderful Universe he forged for us.
