when you are so big and so popular with fans that you can not only celebrate your movies with them but also the comic-con appearances... that is what it is like being on top.

@knocturnalzen10 - I've been told the inescapable stench of body odor makes SDCC unbearable.

@blackandyellow - it can get a bit gamey especially per the cosplayer's with the layers. kind of like a wet basement :/

but i went one year where i got to show my work to todd mcfarlane which was pretty cool

ftf530 - 7/19/2018, 2:33 PM
@blackandyellow - only if you spend your whole weekend outside the hall h bathrooms or in the small rooms they shove the ccg players into

otherwise it's not bad unless you're outside with ridiculous cosplay outfits (ridiculous as in don't go wearing that full hela headress in 99 degree weather and not expect to pass out)

@Pitydafool - Ugh the MCU one today is so cool

I like the other one but it's got a lot more going on

Currently trying to ignore that it's completely my fault that I'm not there right now.

Pitydafool - 7/20/2018, 7:08 AM
@ftf530 - I tried but couldn't get tickets. Will try again next year. Mondo always has amazing posters for SDCC. I have no doubt there will be a Star Wars EP9 & Avengers 4 there next year
ftf530
ftf530 - 7/20/2018, 7:30 AM
@Pitydafool - They did pro badge registration way too early so I missed out on that, and then they did normal registration WAY too early (last fall, whilst I was finishing / in capstones two majors and a minor) - so I literally had no idea if I would be able to afford going to San Diego (or if I'd be in LA, where I'd spent the last three summers, making it SO easy to go)

Also, side note, last summer I learned how easy it is to sneak into Hall H twice (saw the defenders panel and the last few saturday panels) and I will probably never live up to that again.

@Pitydafool - speaking of them doing things way too early, pro badge registration for 2019 went live LAST WEEK.

Like, what the hell.

Pitydafool - 7/20/2018, 7:59 AM
@ftf530 - What! I need to check that out. I remember it going down in December. Me and a friend waited in the queue and by the time he got in only sunday tickets where left.
ftf530
ftf530 - 7/20/2018, 8:25 AM
@Pitydafool - it's gotten more ridiculous every year
Pitydafool
Pitydafool - 7/20/2018, 8:28 AM
@ftf530 - Yeah if you have never been you have less then a 6% chance of going. The goal should be (for me) to atleast get a 1 day so going forward I can get into the pre-sale group.

I think me and four of my friends will just form a SDCC ticketing buying group and hope one of use makes it in. I heard 1 person can get up to 4 badges.

The process seem needlessly complicated but it's a bucket list thing and I love Mondo. I have more Mondo's then wall space. Prolly going to have to sale some :/
ftf530
ftf530 - 7/20/2018, 9:00 AM
@Pitydafool - It is needlessly complicated.

Makes me happy that I qualify for a pro badge, but even then it's easy sometimes to not get one since I'm not on the priority side of the probadge list.

My buddy has like three accounts for the que every year, and even then he doesn't always manage a four day pass.

Sometimes I run into an extra badge, so hopefully if that ever happens again I can help someone out on here and not get in trouble (but not this year since I couldnt even go)

Dude I would never wait in that line for Mondo, so respect for your dedication. Same friend from before spent most of a morning in 2017 waiting in their exclusive pre-doors line, and I joined him in it and all they had that I was interested in was a TFA poster - but it was like $90

Weirdly enough - the invader zim stuff is what I'm really bummed to be missing out on this year
Pitydafool
Pitydafool - 7/20/2018, 9:04 AM
@ftf530 - Yeah, I've been in a long mondo line before got a rare Child's Play 1 & 2, a Nightmare on Elm Street and an ultra rate Big Trouble in little china.

I just think they are works of art. They are made out of thick paper and the colors pop. When people come over to visit we get more interest in them then random wall art
ftf530
ftf530 - 7/20/2018, 9:14 AM
@Pitydafool - they're really great, I just can't do it myself haha

Spock0Clock - 7/19/2018, 10:52 AM
I love that it's "the first ten years". It would be easy to imply a ten year anniversary is about something that happened, as opposed to something that is still happening. But there's no mistake here that the MCU is going strong and the blurb isn't over-ambitious nor defensive.

are about the get back some of their most Iconic characters in Fantastic Four and X-Men
WakandaTech
WakandaTech - 7/19/2018, 10:57 AM
I have to believe Marvel has something planned for both Avengers 4 and Captain Marvel

Either at NYCC or something like El Capitan (2014)

Not promoting 2 of their most important and biggest movies in a comic con type format does not seem logical

Pantherpool
Pantherpool - 7/19/2018, 11:00 AM
@WakandaTech - We're probably not getting a title or a trailer for Avengers 4 until the end of the year. But we should be getting a Captain Marvel trailer before NYCC, since that will already be only 5 months before the movie comes out.

@ExpertlyMediocr - there isn't a d23 this year. It's every 2 years and the next one isnt until August 23 2019
