Why I Think Michael Clarke Duncan Was The Perfect Kingpin

Why I Think Michael Clarke Duncan Was The Perfect Kingpin

A few reasons defending MCD and saying why he was the perfect kingpin for me. Also comparing his Kingpin with the one from the comics.

Two days ago, i watched the Daredevil film because i was very small when i watched it for the first time and i didn't remember it. I actually enjoyed the film and i thought it was cool. But anyways i am not here to talk about that, and if you think it was bad i respect your opinion and i guess that you have reasons not to like it.

One of my avourite things from the movie was Michael Clarke Duncan as The Kingpin. I think he is the best choice for that character. I know that he was black and some people didn't like that because in the comics Kinping is white (and that is not racism by the way). I actually don't really like it when they change the races of comicbook characters. Like electro being black (although i don't really care because i don't mind much about this certain character) or casting Dwayne Johnson as Luke Cage, because he is a little bit white and he is not that black. Plus, he hasn't got the voice of a black man either (He hasn't been cast, he's just in fan posters and casts).

As i was saying, i didn't care about MCD as the Kingpin. Why? Because of his awesome performance and his intimidating voice. The way he did certain gestures, the way he spoke and his faces. Every scene where he was, he was amazing. His voice was amazing too, it was scary as hell. I would have loved to see him in a sequel or even in his own movie. I really enjoy rewatching scenes where he appears. He was an spectacular character in the movie.

But aside that, one of the most important facts was his physical. His body was exactly like The Kingpin's. Because you see the Kingpin and you think: "Well, he must be very slow fighting, i guess he hasn't got much resistance". But it is totally the contrary. He can perfectly fight spiderman or daredevil. Why? Because yes, he is very heavy, but most of his weight is because he has giantism and he has big muscles. He just has a lot of belly. Those are the pysical qualities that the Kingpin's actor must have. Plus, he must be tall, taller than the hero (daredevil or spiderman). In most of the fan-casts, people cast actors with obesity but that is not the key.

As you can see here, the Kingpin has been shown many times as a giant. Not as an obess man with no resistance.

Here you can see MCD's big muscles.

So yeah, it's just what i said, the key is a very big and tall actor with giantism, with big muscles and a big belly. I hope he gets cast very good in the new upcoming Daredevil show which i am very pumped to see soon.
