If ARROW's Felicity Isn't Becoming Oracle This Season, Will She Be THIS DC Comics Character?

Felicity is one of Arrow's most popular characters and might have more fans than the series lead. Showrunners have been adamant that she's not becoming Oracle but what about this character?

Ever since Felicity Smoak was first revealed to be wheel-chair bound via leaked set photos, the Arrow fandom has been equally split on whether that's the route they want the show to take with their beloved girl-Friday.  Given her tech background and sudden paralysis, comic book fans were quick to point out Felicity's similarities with another DC Comics wheelchair bound heroine, Barbara Gordon.  When the former Batgirl became paralyzed below the waist, she adopted a new codename of Oracle and used her expert hacking skills to assist Batman and the rest of the Bat-family from the Batcave.

Despite these similarites, Arrow showrunners have been very vocal about dissuading fans from thinking Felicity was becoming the show's version of Oracle.  However, if Felicity's character arc this season isn't taking inspiration from Oracle perhaps it's taking inspiration from Oracle's replacement, Proxy aka Wendy White.  The Arrow executive team previously confirmed that Felicity has ties to The Calculator, who will appear in two upcoming season 4 episodes, played by Tom Amandes.  The Calculator just so happens to have a brilliant, tech-savvy daughter who becomes wheelchair bound after a vicious attack. (Wendy also has a genius twin brother named Marvin). And just like Felicity, Wendy also went to M.I.T. and graduated early (Felicity at 20, Wendy at 16).

With the revelation that Felicity is going to receive a codename on tonight's new episode of Arrow, could it be Proxy? Tune in to 8/7c on The CW to find out.

Fun Trivia: Wendy and Marvin White are based on the characters of Wendy and Marvin from the old Super Friends cartoon.
