I enjoyed it. It's kinda hard following Infinty War and obviously it couldn't be on the same level as a movie then years in the making but it's still a great sequel

@kushhendrix - DP2 is on its own level. Both films are great because they rely on the set up of the previous films. IW takes itself and the continuity seriously. DP2 does NOT and says [frick] it, none of those matter if you cant joke about it.

But I think we can all agree that both films are great superhero sequels, as most sequels usually suck or disappoint.

Call me crazy but I don't think you're supposed to sit down for a Deadpool movie expecting things to make too much sense

@OmegaDaGrodd - lol I know right .
Like I get the complaining about too many jokes in CBM and going from a serious moment to hey guys laugh at this joke way too quick but COME ON . If ANYONE is allowed to throw jokes from every direction and be balls to the walls crazy its Deadpool

Why did you have such dramatic expectations for a deadpool movie that includes a half cyborg traveling back in time Who spends 10 mins talking to wade when he is growing back his legs? These are legitimate gripes if this was Avengers 4. Its a Damn deadpool movie, did you not see the first one?
kushhendrix
kushhendrix - 5/18/2018, 8:15 AM
@Curlyhairfro - Obviously not.

That's the joy of these movies , they don't try to tip to on both sides of the serious or not serious coin.

Why would Cable know Deadpool? If he didn't go back in time he'd die in prison from his healing factor diminished leaving him vulnerable to cancer or hust getting killed there.

Does time travel undo the whole movie? No. Because the emotional journey Wade goes through still happens. As for the literal events of the movie, they still take place if the traveler still does the same action. We see this with Cable doing the exact same actions in the finale except letting Wade know who's teddy bear that is (without being antagonizing). Wade saves Vanessa but still goes to the X-Mansion and gets arrested with Russell, still recruits X-Force, they all die except Peter. Same events of the finale except Cable saves Wade.

@Danbito - Wow.... I didn't care so much about where the end credits made sense... But but your explanation is genius. Great way of looking at it.

Spoiler alert

The only question I had after watching the movie was where does this fit in the timeline? That quick shot of the prequel x men left me wondering if this was set in the 80s. Then I realized it didn't matter since its deadpool and was probably done on purpose.

StormXmen123 - 5/18/2018, 8:28 AM
@Curlyhairfro - While it's a 4th wall break, as he mentions the studios not lending him more X-men.

I think the canon/continuity/universe/timeline of any thing can be left ambiguous aslong as it only Deadpool commenting on it or interacting with it. That's the nature of his character.

Now if Colosuss or Negasonic (characters that are "grounded" to the film; they don't know they're in a film) went over and acknowledged James Macovoys Prof X by talking/interacting with him. That would mean that version of Prof X is grounded in the universe/timeline.

That's just how I view it. But I competley agree it's a Deadpool film. NOTHING needs to make sense.

TheGrayGhost - 5/18/2018, 9:06 AM
@Curlyhairfro - Wouldn't have been based in the 80s due to multiple dubstep jokes/references, that whole thing started early 2000s

Something isn't a plot hole if you just didn't understand it.

"I'm not sure but why Cable would choose to travel back in time to days before Russell making the decision which would turn him into a villain rather than when he was baby or stuck in that home."

Cable literally explains this in the movie.

Also, did the guy who did the Juggernaut CGI steal your parking spot or something, because you really seem to have it out for him. It was good CGI.

OMG some things in a Deadpool movie didn’t make sense😐dumbass I bet he has never pick up a Deadpool comic book.
Deadpool 2 is just as good as the first one and obviously we will see this version in the MCU.
TDKRnry88
TDKRnry88 - 5/18/2018, 8:52 AM
@MrFridayNights - Seeing as how they had the younger, 80s X-Men in a movie set in the present day, it's easy to throw this Deadpool into the MCU. He breaks the comic book rules, so he can also break the movie rules.

I enjoyed this movie quite a bit. I don't understand the hate Wilding is giving it. It's Deadpool!

The X-men have always played far looser with the idea of time travel than most movies or even other comic books do.

Dude you need to chill about this movie. It's [frick]ing DEADPOOL. He's not here to make sense. He flat out tells you as much. He does the same shit in the comics & in the games. It was perfectly consistent with his character.

Also maybe cut back on using the word "downright". You use it in every single review you do, & you literally used it twice just in 1 section here (colossus looking downright excellent & juggernaut looking downright cartoonish). I'd say your use of the word is downright excessive.

Idk why people (mainly you) are so upset about them not going completely into Cable's backstory. Would that have even remotely fit into this movie? Like anywhere? If he's in another movie where they don't reference it, then I think it's fair to complain.

Btw everyone & their mom knows that human skin is like 10x harder to render than non-organic materials (such as metal or cloth). It's pretty obvious why colossus looked so much better than juggernaut. That's what made Thanos' incredibly realistic appearance so impressive in Infinity War.

THANK YOU @JoshWilding - NOW WE ALL KNOW HOW MUCH YOU HATED THIS FILM - we get it.

Seriously, this is purely an opinion-piece article (you can hardly call it that).

He did know who Deadpool was though, "in 50 years you're very much dead".

He didn't know who Wade was, and that's who he fought in prison.

1 - We'l have a X-Force film? it's been post-poned so much. I don't believe this movie will be made anymore.

2 - Yeah, making X-Force just a gag was a mistake IMHO, I really wanted to see Shatterstar and Bedlam in action.

3 - Deadpool 2 is lazy, lazy writing everywhere - still fun, ok.

4 - Teenage Warhead was just an excuse for the "Hi Yukio!" joke, she deserved more.

5 - Colossus and Juggernaut are made of Bad CGI, but at least Juggernaut is a [frick]in' big dude and not Vinnie Jones with a bucket in the head.

6 - They didn't need Black Tom Cassidy in the film, they used him just for a racial joke. Black Tom Could have been the main villain of a deadpool movie. Well, they wasted another chance.

7 - Another nod to Mr.Sinister - If the X-force movie get made, i hope we have him as the Big Bad and the revelation that Cable is actually Cyclops son (they could use Jean as a mom).
