DEADPOOL 2 Writers Originally Wanted The FANTASTIC FOUR For The Sequel's After-Credits Scene

In a new interview, Deadpool 2 writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick reveal yet another scrapped idea for an after-credits scene which would have featured Chris Evans and the cast of 2015's Fantastic Four!

The first Deadpool movie only featured one after-credits scene but the sequel upped the ante and delivered quite a few. Well, as it turns out, writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick had more ideas than just Chris Evans showing up as the Human Torch and the Merc with the Mouth killing baby Hitler because one of the ideas they batted around was the cast of Josh Trank's Fantastic Four showing up!

"We had Chris Evans coming in, not as Captain America, but as the Human Torch," they reiterated before adding that we could have also ended up seeing the cast from the Fantastic Four reboot which bombed in 2015. "And then we had a subsequent scene where all the [2015] Fantastic Four came in together, including Michael B. Jordan as the Human Torch, to kind of one-up the Chris Evans visit."

Needless to say, that would have been great fun but it's hard to imagine any of the actors who starred in the disastrous reboot wanting to reprise their roles even as a joke. Throw in the fact that Fox is clearly going back to the drawing board with those characters and they probably wouldn't have wanted to remind moviegoers about the team either (even though it's likely they'll soon return to Marvel).

Would you have liked to see this after-credits scene? As always, share your thoughts in the usual place.
