Before Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox, there was some online chatter about the studio's third Deadpool movie teaming Ryan Reynolds' Merc With a Mouth with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, and it sounds like there may have been some truth to the rumor.
Reynolds sent out a Tweet to promote positive mental health discussion, asking his followers to re-Tweet the #BellLetsTalk hashtag. Then, just to make sure he had everyone's attention, he added:
"In case that’s not enough, before Disney bought Fox, Deadpool 3 was gonna be a road trip between Deadpool and Logan. Rashomon style. For real."
Of course, there's a good chance Reynolds is joking (as he often does on social media), but it is worth noting that he sent out a follow-up Tweet insisting that he's on the level.
We still think he might be taking the piss!
Either way, the prospect of Rashomon-style adventure featuring Logan and Deadpool is certainly intriguing. We could still see something like this in the MCU one day, but Jackman re-donning the claws seems highly unlikely - especially since it's only a matter of time before Wolverine and the rest of the X-Men are rebooted.
