Disney (via IGN) has shared another sneak peek from Aladdin, and this time we get a fairly lengthy preview of one of the movie's musical sequences (no, not that one), as The Genie (Will Smith) introduces his young master (Mena Massoud) as "Prince Ali" while a seemingly unimpressed Jasmine (Naomi Scott) looks on.

After the mixed (we're being nice) response to our first official look at the Genie in his blue form, the recent full trailer for the movie seemed to get at least a few fans on board by showcasing a fully realized take on the character. It also revisited several beats and locations from the animated classic, and gave us a brief blast of Jasmine and Aladdin singing "A Whole New World."

Will that be enough to propel to movie to success? Well, according to early box office estimates Aladdin is currently tracking towards an $80 million-plus debut over the long Memorial Day weekend, which is by no means unimpressive, but would be quite a bit lower than the opening weekend hauls of both The Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast.

Check out the new clip below along with the recently released character posters, and let us know what you think. Will you be seeing Aladdin in theaters?

A thrilling and vibrant live-action adaptation of Disney’s animated classic, “Aladdin” is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future. Directed by Guy Ritchie, who brings his singular flair for fast-paced, visceral action to the fictitious port city of Agrabah, “Aladdin” is written by John August and Ritchie based on Disney’s “Aladdin.”

Aladdin hits theaters on May 24, 2019.

I really liked Maleficent but I feel like it's just been downhill from there.

And until they do something like Atlantis or Treasure Planet (as if that's going to happen anytime this or the next decade), I'm not really interested anyway.

@Shroombeast - treasure planet is super underrated.

Yee gads this is awful. Cheap costume. Slow, lumbering music! Guy Ritchie blows it again!

@Canary - my hopes were slightly elevated by the last trailer, but holy hell that clip was full force cringe. This is gonna be a disaster.

Surprised at the few the replies with people saying this captures the beauty of the animation so well. What are they seeing that I am not?

The parade lookS stiff. Why the hell did they hire GUY RITCHIE to direct a lowkey musical? Aladdin is basically a musical and this guy lacks the experience to do something like this.

This is it huh. This is the last big blockbuster Guy Ritchie will ever be allowed to make.

I mean, it's basically like the animated original - if you took out all the creativity, energy and charm.

Damned if they do, damned if they don't. If they change an iconic song they get thrashed, if they keep it the same they get thrashed. I think its fine, it can't be anything like the animated version but it'll still be enjoyable.

@Super12 - I think it was a mistake to make this movie period. Heres my thinking of why.

I dont think the frantic and quick animation surrounding Genie and his antics can be duplicated in a live action setting without making the his gags and entire musical sequences darn near 100% cgi so physics can be defied like a cartoon does. Plus I think Will as Genie is serviceable in most scenes but I think the musical numbers are where Robin Williams is missed the most. Nobody can hit the same Mark's Robin Williams could, and to merely have Will do his Fresh Prince shtick in musical numbers is not working at all.

So my next thought is this movie shouldn't be a musical. I know its Disney, but I think these live action remakes are at their worst when attempting to recreate the musical numbers. I think just focusing on the story and characters is when they shine. Now even though the basic story of Aladdin has been retold forever, it's not particularly a well crafted story in itself so if they couldn't find the heart within the story to make this movie stand on it's own without the music, they shouldn't have made it at all.

This movie just reeks to me of Disney executives forcing this movie along before they really understood what they were making. "Just remake the cartoon in live action... this is the next one we're remaking so just go make it" instead of this movie being developed naturally by people who have a passion that inspired this new version.

Its souless, and people are noticing.

@Super12 - They didn't change the song (a plus) but this version is definitely a minus. Smith didn't give it the same pluck and fun feel of the original.

I can hardly hear his voice.
Also why does Agrabah look like a set? I had the same feeling with Belle's village in the BATB remake.
