Disney-Fox Deal Is Expected To Be Finalized By Mid-March

Though it was initially reported that the Disney-Fox deal would be finalized by late 2018, we now have word that everything is expected to be ironed out over the next couple of weeks. More past the jump.

We've been waiting for word on the Disney-Fox deal approval for quite a while now, and it looks like that's just around the corner.

According to Deadline, one of the final steps in the regulatory review of the massive $71.3 billion deal will be taken today when regulators in Brazil officially approve the transaction. However, there is still a final closing period of about 10 days to ensure that all the "Ts are crossed and Is dotted."

This means that we should get some kind of official announcement that the deal has closed next month.

The implications of this deal are far-reaching (to say the least), but we're obviously paying closest attention to Marvel Studios' plans for Fox's stable of X-Men and Fantastic Four characters. Once the deal is finalized we may begin to get a clearer picture of what Marvel has in store on that front, but fans shouldn't expect any major revelations right off the bat.

Perhaps we'll finally get some details once the studio is good and ready to share its Phase 4 plans.
