It's been fourteen years since The Incredibles was released. That's right, FOURTEEN! Now, Brad Bird is back at the helm of the franchise for Incredibles 2 and the first screening of the sequel took place in Los Angeles last night. While moviegoers are clearly excited about checking this one out (it's expected to open in North America with $140+ million) is it going to live up to the lofty expectations of fans?
We'll find out when it opens on June 15th and, as you're no doubt already aware, Incredibles 2 is going to feature Mr. Incredible having to get used to life as a stay at home dad after Elastigirl decides it's her turn to do the hero thing. However, a newly surfaced threat soon brings the entire family together.
So, what do critics make of the sequel? Well, reviews are embargoed for the time being but you can find a selection of reactions from Twitter below. Simply put, it sounds like Incredibles 2 will definitely live up to expectations and it stands a chance of being one of 2018's best superhero movies.
