We got a first look at some footage from Thor: Love and Thunder earlier today, and Marvel Studios has followed that up with a brand-new promo spot for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Marvel Studios finally unveiled the first trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder earlier today, but they clearly don't want us forgetting that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is right around the corner, as a new promo for Sam Raimi's sequel is now online.

This 30-second spot reuses some footage from the most recent trailer, but there are a few exciting new shots in there, including another look at the Master of the Mystic Arts (Benedict Cumberbatch) fending off an attack alongside America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) and a Variant many assume to be Clea (Rachel McAdams). We also get a rather creepy new glimpse of The Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen).

Director Sam Raimi recently confirmed that we'll see an "altered version" of Wanda in the movie, so it sounds like the evil Scarlet Witch we meet here is most likely going to be a Variant, and not the established MCU hero we know and love. Either way, one of the most powerful characters in The MCU is on the warpath, which can only end in a lot of death and destruction!

In Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. The film is directed by Sam Raimi, and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll and Jamie Christopher serve as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Michael Waldron.

The Doctor Strange sequel releases in U.S. theaters on May 6, 2022.

I'm really looking forward to this one. Most excited for an MCU movie I've been since Endgame I think.

@TheManWithoutFear - saaame, for me it’s in large part due to NWH. Before that it’s hard to say what was my most anticipated. They all converged for IW&EG, now we get to see how they diverge, with some teamups of course.

@Crtdacct2say - I think they both look great in their own regard. Strange is this crazy epic multiverse event while Thor seems to be a bittersweet, almost indie, 80's pulp/fantasy ride. I'm here for it all.

I feel the moment where he says “this is the only way” is a nightmare version of when he told that to Tony on titan. Would be a wasted opportunity if he didn’t still feel guilty over that death

Nice having a more horror focused project in the MCU.

This seriously feels like a “What If… Marvel threw lots of money at Sam Raime and said “Go do your Sam Raime stuff with Dr. Strange. Here are the keys to the Marvel Toy Box. Now go nuts.””. Damn. Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit doing hallucinogens.

@TheLobster - They won't. You know they'll just use a variant and keep our version a hero.

It's either zombie Wanda or possessed by C'thon Wanda.
