Don't Expect To See Rachel McAdams Become Night Nurse In DOCTOR STRANGE
The Defenders have a Night Nurse in the form of Claire Temple, but what does the future hold in store for the actual Night Nurse, Christine Palmer? Hit the jump to get the scoop from Marvel's Kevin Feige.
Asked last year why Daredevil introduced Claire Temple as Night Nurse, former showrunner Steven DeKnight explained that while he had originally wanted to cast Rosario Dawson as Christine Palmer (the character who tends to New York City's injured vigilantes in the comic books), he was unable to do so due to Marvel's movie division telling him they had plans for her somewhere down the line.
We now know that's in Doctor Strange, something which makes sense when you take into account the fact that the Sorcerer Supreme became romantically entangled with her in the source material.
However, in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed that there are no plans for Palmer to take on the Night Nurse mantle. Yet. "I will say that that story line does not play into the movie." But could it happen somewhere down the line? "It’s just as much fun for us as it is for the fans to speculate about that." It seems unlikely given what The Defenders is doing and there aren't any big screen heroes who need a Night Nurse as much as them!
