DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS' Reshoots May Add Some Huge Cameos

On Friday, we learned that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will undergo six weeks of additional photography, but a new rumour suggests the main reason is to add some planned cameos to the film.

Late last week, we learned that Marvel Studios is planning six weeks of reshoots for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. While it's a well-known fact that the studio takes additional photography into account for its movies (often using them to change anything that doesn't work in the initial cut), cameras rolling for all that time has definitely raised some eyebrows.

Insiders have insisted there's nothing to worry about - even after the sequel's recent release date delays - and The GWW's KC Walsh is now claiming that there's a good reason for the reshoots.

Apparently, "Feige is actually pleased with Raimi and the [film's] direction" but "they are adding people who were busy (filming a show *wink emoji*) during principle, [and] streamlining a pivotal scene that also involves 'cameos.'" Walsh had previously speculated that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' reshoots could be a result of having to better explain the concept of alternate realities for those who didn't tune into Loki on Disney+.

There have been rumblings for a while now that we could see the likes of Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, and Owen Wilson in the Doctor Strange follow-up. Then, there are the likes of Hayley Atwell (who has been busy with Mission: Impossible 8) and other familiar faces from the past who we won't mention here for fear of spoilers. You can read more about them in this recent plot leak, though.

We're hoping a first look at Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness might arrive online in time for Spider-Man: No Way Home in December; that would certainly make sense given how much the two movies have in common. Either way, we can't wait to start exploring the MCU's Multiverse!

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be released on May 6, 2022.
