It Sounds Like DOCTOR STRANGE's Eye Of Agamotto Is Definitely A [SPOILER]
Marvel's Kevin Feige has talked more about the Sorcerer Supreme's Eye of Agamotto in Doctor Strange, and after mentioning what it's capable of, a fan theory has seemingly been confirmed at last...
As soon as we got our first look at Doctor Strange, many fans wondered if his Eye of Agamotto could in fact be one of the Infinity Stones. A mind-bending TV spot would later go some way in confirming the theory that it's the Time Stone, but that's a fact which has not yet been officially revealed one way or another. However, comments from Kevin Feige have seemingly cleared things up atl least a little.
Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Feige told the site that it's the source of many of the Sorcerer Supreme's powers, but mentioned that it specifically gives him the ability to, "screw around with time." Director Scott Derrickson meanwhile added the following: "It was so cool — we knew we didn’t have to improve greatly upon what was in the comics for it to be interesting for a modern audience."
The Eye of Agamotto being the Time Stone makes a lot of sense, especially as it a) is neither the full source of his powers (he's not wearing it when he's casting spells during his training) and b) brings him into contact with The Avengers in an easy way when Thanos attacks Earth in a quest to track the Stones down.
