Marvel Studios has finally shared the first teaser trailer for Eternals, and while it doesn't reveal much, it still offers an exciting glimpse at the role these heroes will play in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While there aren't many significant talking points to be found here, Chloé Zhao's first superhero movie looks like an absolute beauty as far as the visuals are concerned, and those costumes look great in motion. The Oscar-winning filmmaker clearly set out to do something different here, and there's already been buzz online that this could be a movie that receives some serious awards attention.

Eternals features an exciting new team of superheroes in the MCU, ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. However, following the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind's most ancient enemy.

The Deviants are nowhere to be seen, and neither are the Celestials we've already caught sight of in the action figures, LEGO sets, and promo art that's been doing the rounds for several months now.

Regardless, the outstanding ensemble cast includes Richard Madden as Ikaris, Gemma Chan Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayak as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as Druig, and Angelina Jolie as Thena. Kit Harrington, meanwhile, will take on the role of Dane Whitman.

He can be seen here, but there are no indications that he'll be suiting up as the Black Knight!

I really don't have any interest in this movie, but I do like how this doesn't feel like a cookie cutter MCU film. Until like, the last few seconds of the trailer lol

@KWilly - yeah. This gives a sense of dr strange, which was written as a darker/more serious movie but then the studio asks for additional funny scenes like this that are just jarring. Hopefully it's pretty sparce.

@PantherKing

The "who could lead the Avengers now that Iron Man and Cap are gone". It was like the last bit of the trailer.

@regularmovieguy - That’s not even a joke. It’s a reference to the in world events and it’s a valid question

@PantherKing

I mean, the characters definitely took it as a joke. It's just silly.

@PantherKing - The intent was for it to be funny and it wasn't.

@Origame - My guess is someone says "WE NEED TO CONNECT THIS TO THE AVENGERS SOMEHOW", then we have these cringy lines in the trailer.

We don't even know why they're laughing, so there's no payoff.

Pretty much like those Ant_Man posters with him over IM's suit, Cap's shield, Thor's hammer...
