Sounds pretty cool. I'm curious about this one and the potential style and tone of this movie. I wonder how cosmic it's gonna be and the idea it's set or dealing in the ancient times of the MCU.

OFF-TOPIC: I just read Bill Maher's post on Stan Lee and I'm just so disgusted. What's wrong with people?

@DnA - What did he say?

@MadameCipher - He called people mourning Lee immature adults because they read comics book, and said Stan Lee, comic books and the movies inspired by them are the cause of immaturity in America.

Basically he doesn't care that Lee passed because he's a mature adult and everyone else isn't.

@DnA - Sounds like a vainglorious pointless arrogant little prick.

@MadameCipher - this is what he wrote:

"The guy who created Spider-Man and the Hulk has died, and America is in mourning. Deep, deep mourning for a man who inspired millions to, I don’t know, watch a movie, I guess. Someone on Reddit posted, “I'm so incredibly grateful I lived in a world that included Stan Lee.” Personally, I’m grateful I lived in a world that included oxygen and trees, but to each his own. Now, I have nothing against comic books – I read them now and then when I was a kid and I was all out of Hardy Boys. But the assumption everyone had back then, both the adults and the kids, was that comics were for kids, and when you grew up you moved on to big-boy books without the pictures.

But then twenty years or so ago, something happened – adults decided they didn’t have to give up kid stuff. And so they pretended comic books were actually sophisticated literature. And because America has over 4,500 colleges – which means we need more professors than we have smart people – some dumb people got to be professors by writing theses with titles like Otherness and Heterodoxy in the Silver Surfer. And now when adults are forced to do grown-up things like buy auto insurance, they call it “adulting,” and act like it’s some giant struggle.

I’m not saying we’ve necessarily gotten stupider. The average Joe is smarter in a lot of ways than he was in, say, the 1940s, when a big night out was a Three Stooges short and a Carmen Miranda musical. The problem is, we’re using our smarts on stupid stuff. I don’t think it’s a huge stretch to suggest that Donald Trump could only get elected in a country that thinks comic books are important."

@GreedoSarducci - whoa.... It's interesting how you can see just his mhch a jerk off someone is by their pompous writing. Here's someone I can spending an entire afternoon arguing with. But he likely posted that as bait to start a fight. Nobody is that dense and narrow minded right?

It's interesting that Ikaris isn't the lead, nor Sersi, which was what was originally reported. I like this, I like this a lot actually. For anyone who has read Eternals, they should know this isn't usually what an Eternals roster would look like, but this roster is unconventional in the best way. With the liberties they're taking, we could easily have Hercules as the damn male lead, and then boom! Greek Gods are introduced in the MCU, StarFox being an awesome character connected to Thanos opens up so many possibilities. And they may have gender-swapped Sprite, the kid Eternal, which is cool. And they're realllly pulling out some unknowns with Elysius. I've only read Neill Gaiman's run, but I'm sure she's not a regular in the books, but I just love that they're somehow making the Eternals an unexpected experience even to people who are FAMILIAR WITH THE ETERNALS!

@ScarletWarlock - your excitement for this development kinda makes me excited. I know little about the eternals and I'm trying to go in that way (same dealio for me with guardians) but even I know Hercules wasn't an eternal. However it makes sense much in the way the Nordics worshipped thor and loki, that they're ancient bejnfsy

@Vigor - The Eternals are purposely similar to the Greek Gods, so it wouldn't surprise me if, say, the MCU retcons Greek god history so that they were never mystical Gods, and they're just an offshoot of the Eternals, so because they were so powerful, they were worshipped by humans. Even Thena is purposely made to be similar to the greek goddess Athena, so maybe they'd be better off with just combining the concepts, make the lore tighter, and you have give more interesting Eternals to play with. But yeah, I am super excited for this movie. I understand there's lack of familiarity and whatnot, but people will see the immense potential real soon. It's also a really big opportunity for them to not only make Eternals a household name, but to give a really diverse cast. So, if it's a hit, then they have several likeable characters that offer a lot in representation. Making this movie was a really smart move on their part, especially since they seem to be making the most of it by adding StarFox.
